[The GTX 780 Ti is quite the graphic card, Nvidia’s flagship to be precise, however the one thing it lacks in is its video memory. With a meager 3GB of VRam, the GTX 780 TI could not realize its true potential. Back before the GTX 780 Ti KingP|N was released, everyone assumed it would be 6GB but that was sadly not the case. However we have got word that Nvidia has completed preparations for the GTX 780 Ti Launch.

Nvidia Prepping the GTX 780 Ti 6GB Edition for Launch – Waiting for Titan Inventory to Clear Up.

We have just received information that AIC Partners are waiting for the GTX Titan inventory to clear up. After that happens the GTX 780 Ti 6 GB will be released. The stock of the GTX Titan is already in a somewhat slow trickle state because of the launch of the GTX 780 Ti. We believe that one of the major reasons why no 6GB version has been released yet is so that people still have sufficient reason to buy the GTX Titan. According to our sources as soon as the GTX Titan Inventory Status clears up the 780 Ti 6GB Variant will start shipping.

Of course 6GB of VRam will allow the 780 Ti to utilize its full potential. We have seen that the Ti’s 3GB Memory causes some serious bottle-necking in some games while in 4k Resolution. We see that the Current Gaming trend is moving towards a 4k Standard and where resolution is concerned, the more VRam, the merrier. Not only that, but with the increased VRam, SLI configurations should gain more power. Ofcourse, professionals would gain the most benefit from the added memory, but for some reason or the other , the 780 Ti is just not as good with Compute as the Titan is.

We expect that the GTX 780 Ti 6GB Edition should start shipping in a short time span.

So I guess this is the "black edition" prophesied late last year?

I'm happy for Kaap and his 4 impending purchases. :D

Would like to see how it clocks vs the "meagre" 3GB.

Nvidia board meeting "How can we milk these idiots dry ?" lol

I'm quickly losing respect for Nvidia.

This section right here has me questioning if "Syed Muhammad Usman Pirzada" actually does any research or knows anything about the cards he reports on -

But for some reason or the other , The 780 Ti is just not as good with Compute as the Titan is.

Oh you *******.

I knew they would frankly. It was obvious they didn't want to step on Titan as there was plenty of stock left.

Not sure if I will bother though. Won't be going 4k till Chrimbo :)

I'm 100% gonna stay with my 780 Ti SLI setup as switching to the 6GB versions would cost a fortune and the most I've ever seen being used is 2.1GB at 1440P so this would be useless to me and I don't plan on doing surround gaming either or even 4K for quite a long time until the 4K IPS panels are near mainstream like 1440P is now in the enthusiast community.
Hell I only just went 1440P last month after years of 1080P :p

Same, only been at 1440p for a year:)
I'm sure there will be a few users up I'm arms who've pre ordered Kingpins card. Overclockers card or not. Still I'm quite glad I cancelled my classy order.

I can see the 6GB versions being as much as the kingpin versions knowing Nvidia.
This might make room for some member market 780 Ti deals ?
I think I smell my 2-Way SLI turning into 3-Way SLI :p

"Rip off Britain" doesn't actually exist in the way you're portraying it. You read too many tabloids.

No I generally don't read the tabloids and I've just traveled a lot and work in many European countries and every time I come back to England the prices of things is a lot more than other places I've been to and not just electronics but everything really.
Anyway getting off topic.

I doubt it will be dubbed 'Black Edition' as much as I doubt the cooler will be black too.

If partners are just getting them in now I don't think we'll see them till the end of next month, maybe March time?

It will just be called 780 Ti 6GB Edition I reckon and I doubt it will have a black shroud either plus going by what overclockers like kingpin say and do the 6GB frame buffer would be a hindrance to the overclocking potential of the card.

Exchange rates, tax on goods, tax on jobs, tax on income are all different and affect the purchasing power of your wages depending on where you live. The large difference between the disparity between the UK price and US price is that the US price is without state sales tax whereas the UK price includes 20% VAT. Additionally, graphics cards are purchased in dollars and sold in sterling so this affects the price as well. Lastly, you've got just plain old price gouging by retailers cashing in on demand. Here isn't the cheapest place to buy on release most of the time but that is different from "rip off Britain".

I can get a pint of beer in Vilnius for something like 50p but that doesn't mean that the £3.50 I pay in the UK is necessarily a rip off. Taxes are very roughly equivalent to state spending. If you want things to be cheaper then the state has to be rolled back :).

I fully understand state tax etc... Just saying in Europe as far as I've seen as I travel throughout it many many times a year that England is the most expensive that I have seen to date and not just electronics but in general.
Anyway again this is off topic.

*EDIT* Plus not to mention I live in Europe 6 months of the year and have been doing so for the past 5 years so I'm not just saying this without actually knowing anything.
