Lawful killing of Mark Duggan

Love the way the family refuse to believe he'd do anything wrong.

Pretty much! Let's just ignore the police who have said on numerous occasions they would rank Duggan as one of the 50 most dangerous criminals in Europe, and let's ignore the conclusion that the Jury made based on all the evidence in this case. Let's instead just take the word of his mother who is obviously totally impartial.

At the end of the day its simple. If he didnt illegally buy an illegal gun, he wouldn't of had armed officers coming after him.

It's his own fault. Regardless of if the officer was too trigger happy or not (which he wasn't).

Ok probably be flamed for this, but sick to death of all the namby pamby skirting around the issues that seem to happen all the time.

Remember the court of law jury had all the evidence, all you hear is sound bites on the TV or radio.

1. He was a known problem with history
2. Intelligence was obtained he had a gun
3. He had a gun when stopped, one can only assume it was for criminal intend why else would he have one
4. He was given plenty of warnings and failed to comply
5. He was shot when he made threatening moves having known to have a gun.
6. The officer acted within the law.

This is what the Jury decided in our over careful criminal system.

No matter what the outcome was, the locals shouting about the outcome of the enquiry (mainly black) will never accept this and will claim racism etc.

Let's get this right, it is fine for the youngster / gangsters to go around shooting each other and innocents, but if the police dare to stop an armed man and shot him when he fails to act to instructions and acts threateningly it is not ok ?

At the end of the day, he was involved in the wrong side of the law / community and had a gun on our streets for criminal intent.

Well done to the police and the community should look at themselves rather than the police.

As for his mother and what to tell his kids when they ask why their daddy is dead (on radio 5 live). Simple. Tell them he was a bad man and was punished for it.

Another typical example of run down inner city communities wanting to blame everyone but themselves.

+1. And I can honestly say that if it was me holding that gun instead of that policeman, I would have pulled the trigger aswell

Bit of a sweeping statement here that I can't really back up, but it seems rare that Joe Public's testimony is held above the police's when it comes to 'our word against their's'.

Of course - that's why in all court cases the jury just goes "ah look, the police and CPS say he did it and they must be right." No "not guilty" verdicts are ever returned.

The jury that considered it was a lawful killing when they also had the option to return unlawful or open verdicts?

Why are they wrong and the people thinking it was an unlawful killing right?
Because people on the internet with a prejudice against British police are much better qualified to give a verdict than sheeple who spent weeks upon weeks pouring over the detailed evidence in the case.

indeed they do, but the police man didn't shoot him because of his friends and family, he shot him because he thought he had a gun and was putting the officers and innocents lives at risk.

Once again. The Police actually went about putting more innocents at risk than the deceased by their actions.

But they did not know this at the time, only with hindsight. Hence the verdict. I ask again, what makes the jurors wrong and you right?
