Involved in a hit and run, trying to get other persons insurance details

Bit of an update, police called today to confirm the driver of the other car finally came forward after he was posted a NIP, didn't believe he'd hit anything so felt no reason to stop (so why run from the scene using backroads instead of using the intended junction? The officer knew the area so knew the road taken would have been much slower). Our insurance was notified at the time that a collision had happened and were waiting for the other driver's details which we now have.

If we want to provide a statement the other driver will be charged with failing to stop and exchange details. (I didn't take the call, just passing on what I was told)

and there we go, police waited for him "not to report" so they could send him a NIP.

Provide the statement!

I love it when a plan comes together. :D

Even the police were impressed with how quick the NIP was responded to, the vehicle was owned by a company and the boss gave the driver a grilling.

The NIP was sent out as soon as the report was given to that police station as they hadn't reported causing an accident within 24 hours.
