XBone v PS4 sales

The official sales figures show that Sony have sold around 15% more units than Microsoft. From the people I know off, it is more like 10 people with PS4 for every one with the XBone.

And certainly on any web forum I come across, the favour is overwhelmingly swinging towards the PS4.

Are the sales figures being 'manipulated'?

Yeah.

The evidence on the ground that I can see is that the PS4 is storming away ahead by an unbelievable amount. A bit like the PS1 v Sega Saturn, yet the official figures give the impression that XBone is still a contender.

These figures are giving a false impression. I think Microsoft could have an absolute disaster on their hands here (good!)

I am sure my friends and acquaintances aren't lying about the fact that they have a PS4 as opposed to an XBone and I am sure that the PS4s I have seen sitting in peoples front rooms weren't XBones with a cunning PS4 facade. I am also sure the retail stores aren't just trying to trick their customers by saying that they are sold out of PD4s, but have loads of XBOnes.

Perhaps 'sales' figures from Microsoft are based on units shipped to retail other than actually sold?

Nope.

But from the limited spheres in which I move, and from what I can make out on the internet. PS4 is stealing the show and Microsoft is being badly beaten. The only indications that I get that states this is not the case are the 'official' sales figures.


btw...this isn't a console fanboist flame war.

I think both of them are p's.o.s and wouldn't have either.......... just incase you were getting a little defensive there.

Ignoring the obvious hyperbole and fanboy'ism. How exactly would that be good?

Competition is good not a monopoly by any single entity.
 
PS4 released in many more countries and stock is spread thin compared to Xbox One, it's going to be a while before everyone who wanted one gets one and we see the real numbers.

Am I not allowed to have an interest is something that I have no intention in participating in?

I have too much money to game on a console, and if I didn't, I would certainly be far too smart to have bought an XBone like you clearly have. ;)

If Microsoft officially and proudly announce that their console is selling miserably, that will scare any potential buyers (suckers) right away. It is in their business interests to make it look as good as possible.

Not sure why you have made the post, you say both are P's o S and wont buy either, yet are suggesting MS sales are manipulated as the difference in figures quoted aren't as much a landslide for PS4 as you expect from your survey of 10 friends? :confused:
 
All my friends and acquaintances have xbones then again most of them previously had xbox 360's so they just stuck with what they knew and were familiar with. This obviously doesn't represent much since me or you don't have 3 million friends, but this is the trend around my circle of friends.

I don't see this struggle people talk about to get a ps4, all the argos stores by me have stock for these to go pick up right now:
"PS4 500GB Console with Killzone Shadow Fall Game"
"Sony PS4 Console with 500GB Hard Drive"
"PS4 Console and Knack Game Bundle"

Think it's too early to talk about numbers just wait another 2 years or so and then we can start comparing. Right now I would say PS4 stock may be harder to find because they released in more countries and the stock has to be more spread out, whilst xbox only released in a few countries and they can keep up with the demand. Never understood fanboy's and people that want to see companies fail, competition is good and not everyone has to have the console YOU like or favour.

The narky comment wasn't directed at you.

I bought a 360 so I could play Red Dead Redemption...great game perhaps, but I couldn't stand the awful visuals....once you get used to a certain standard there is no going back......especially if that standard is a solid 60FPS....going to 30FPs (with screen tearing) is intolerable. I know that the new consoles are billed to run at 60 FPS.....we will see how well they stick to that in time.
 
Give it a year for the dust to settle :)

As far as in concern, everyone that I know who wants a xbone has one, myself and the other people I know who wants a ps4 are waiting due to lack of stock or lack of good titles.

I got a PS4...don't give a flying hoot about the war little kids are having on messageboards!

I play my PC more then my consoles, but wait I have PC and consoles so does that mean I'm super rich? Great logic guy
