What have you done to your car today?

Got round to taking off the boot handle as had got alittle damp over its life and try figure out why one number plate light wasnt working. Same time fitted some LED number plate lights. Feel its freshened the rear of the car up more.

Looks neater :)

My car (X3 not 335) chores for the day - picked it up from the garage after having a new rear brake caliper fitted. They cleaned up the rear discs and pads too. Stops better now and no longer makes any noises that it shouldn't.

Then I gave it a quick wash.

Headlights were getting in a right state, been getting all emo about it at some recent Porsche meetings so decided to give them a good old clean up and polish.

Light output seems improved, but hard to really tell as didn't do a proper comparison.

I bet that looks ten times better back on the car, well done! You'll probably get a more defined beam cut-off at least :)

Looks a million times better! :D Not really a great deal of improvement in beam cut off, slightly clearer, think I need some new bulbs, these are probably 10 years old by now.

I dunno, most will know I'm a stock look advocate when it comes to the exterior bodywork/lights of cars and to me those white/blue tinted LEDs on older cars that didn't have them makes them look less classy - In the same way that people who switch the yellow angel eye bulbs on an E39 with white ones makes it look non genuine and unclassy.

Have you also done the sidelights on the headlamps? If so then at least that will pair up the look front and back.

They look quite blue against the silver paint in the photo but I tried to fix the camera phone photo to look less blown out.

Ive ordered or had fitted:

HID for Dip.
Nightbreakers main.
Nightbreakers fog.
White LED angel eye.
White Cree LED reverse.
White LED interior kit.

Ive seen a few mercs around town that look just like my number plate lights. My E46 is never going to be a mint example that is worth keeping totally stock. Along with doing any maintenance work that needs doing I am happy to spend some cash to update the look of things in it. I bought it with tinted windows but think I may remove the front sides as it looks abit boy racer rather than factory.
