but has anyone else noticed tho?
It's the way vbulletin and the database works. Archiving reduces the views and db load yet still allows information to be available for reference.
From my understanding every time you visit a thread or comment on it all the entries have to be updated and has to query the db. The bigger the thread the more has to be updated. We have had some seriously massive threads. It's a popular forum and even later versions of vbulletin won't necessarily resolve that from what I've heard anyway.
I understand why you are archiving threads, what I said was why do other large threads still exist? Why haven't they been archived when other threads have been?
Great comparisonWhen forums get bigger than the site. Bit like when pensions get bigger than the companies.
We'll get there! I'm in lakeside being dragged round shops at the mo so can't do it. Give a chance! :'(
