Just bought a FT03 mini build because i could choose a paint job on it from whatever colour i like, which was a sweet selling point.

All i need to choose is a GPU, would a phantom GLH 780 go in or would the 2.5 slot design hinder somewhat?

And would a reference design work best with the case design in mind, in which case the 290 would be the choice, 780 TI is too expensive and the 780 from the looks of things has no reference design available.

In same boat choosing over a 780 or a 290.

For the price I really like this 780 at the moment

Or yet again for this price this 290

Both fantastic coolers and loving the price but stuck between those two :P

Phatom glh is very fast, cool and as far as coolers go its silent. Both of mine on the stocl bios boost to 1110mhz, with the skynet bios have no problem running at 1306/6600.

Not sure I would want to put a ref 290 in there, as it would have to have the fan on high because of the heat and the noise not being the best. The Gigabyte WF X3 780/290 are great coolers and should be fine in that case.

A 780 over a 290 for me. While the black screen issues persist I find it difficult to recommend a 290. Once they're fixed then either flip a coin or choose the card that fits your situation.

PhysX, Gsync, TXAA, 3D Vision, etc.

vs

Mantle, Tru-Audio, etc.

As above: if you want it now, as in right NOW then 780. Once 290 stock is in, black screens are 100% fixed then it's a coin flip depending on what games you play/use of the card.

In a small case like that your going need a 780 with a stock ref cooler that exhausts the heat out the rear PCI slots....

I know, but having carefully looked at my funds, i will choose a GTX 770 now and give it to my brother in the summer, i will buy a 780 then.

The only reference 770 is the GTX 770 superclocked, any idea what temps are like with it, only reviews i find all seem to use the Titan cooler.

a decent 450w would do fine, even on twin 670's i only pull around 500w from the wall.

so really either card will do you fine, wait to see what mantle is like might be a good idea?
