Before the mods delete this thread, i am trying to copy a dvd that my dad had made of home movies of holidays recorded by my grandfather. The dvd has no copyright on it.

Basically i have a dvd, that was made by a local company and my dad wants to have a copy of it as a backup in case he loses the disk, or wants to lend it to anybody. I have copied the dvd and have it in an iso file however i was wondering if there was a way to get a copy of the video without the menu at the beginning and also in a standard format like avi or mpeg as the one on the dvd is like .vdf or something. can you do it through media player, as i know you can rip music

DVD shrink will remove menu, transcoding to AVI, WMV etc will result in lesser video and sound quality, just so you know. You could just strip out the MPEG2 video from the VOB's.
