Hello.

Ive overclocked my AMD Phenom II x 4 965 to 4.01Ghz and upped the voltage to 1.5257.

Im running a noctua NH-D14 heatsink.

Would it be ok to overclock it past 4.01Ghz?

Thanks

I really wouldn't push any further than that for 24/7 usage.

1.5275 is pretty high, my old phenom II 955BE needed 1.45v after 2 years of abuse and degrading.

When I first bought it 1.4125v was all it needed for 4ghz. Lots of benching and suicide runs with high voltages meant it needed extra volts in the later stages of its life, suppose that's what happens when you bench with 1.65vcore,1.9v dram and 1.5v northbridge

Would it be better for me to bring the voltage down a little.

I know when I upped it to 4.01ghz and left it at standard voltage it blue screened but I could bring it down a little.

I'd be aiming at under 1.5v for 4ghz personally.

Ok, will bring it down later.

Ive noticed you also have the GTX460 (same as me). Have you overclocked it?

EDIT: Just bought it down to 1.4v and it blur screened so I upped it a little to 1.450 and it seems ok now

I've got the same CPU and mine is running at 4.22GHz stable but it's under water. I run mine at this all the time i use it. Any tips for getting it up to 4.4 stable?

Mines at 3.8ghz now and cuts out on prime 95. I have the noctua nhd14 cooler. Think i need to look into the voltage

I just used easy setup in the BIOS on my mobo. Wasn't getting very good clocks with doing it manually. got NB overclocked as well as RAM. When i get a 900d will put my r9 290 under water then OC that as well.

Hi guys, have got the same chip on a Gigabyte MA790FX-DQ6 board, with a Corsair H50 cooler. Want to OC to about 3.9GHz at least, never done it before.
Can you give me some tips please?
