Can Dreams Kill You?

Theoretically a dream alone cannot kill you but amplified by a cocktail of experimental drugs, yes.

I mean strictly speaking it is entirely possible for your body to think it is being stabbed and the skin to open up from the inside.

The question I am interested in is when people die in their sleep, generally of the older kind, whether or not they dream of dying?

I don't think you can die in your dreams......wait a minute... What about all those people who apparently die in their sleep? Do they dream for one last time and have a crazy nightmare? Argh................

I died in a dream before - the dream continued with some random person instead of me, it was really odd.

Small typo there, should be "absolutely impossible". Common mistake, the letters are practically right next to each other on the keyboard.

Ive had a recurring dream where I'm shot in the head and died, so far so good!

I have some strange reoccurring dreams

1) I used to have (when I was in my teens) my tongue pierced, but I took it out shortly after, as the feeling of having a bar through my tongue was horrible, I used to hate the feeling of taking it out - Weirdly I now in my later years have dreams of someone pulling a thick metal pole out of my tongue

2) I keep having weird reoccurring dreams of my teeth falling out.

3) Falling dreams - Falling from a great height and waking up suddenly

4) Being shot - Makes you jolt like ****
]

None of the above have killed me

My mrs sometimes has pretty big twitches as she's falling asleep. Dr said it was normal and the brain is temp losing connection to the body and thinks its dying so gives it a jolt..

Scary I thought but then the brain is ready for it and has an answer.

EDIT: Hypnic Jerk

Yeah I get this when I am really tired, and my body shuts down really quickly but I am still sort of in an awake state. It doesn't usually happen when I fall asleep slowly.
