EVGA 780 to 780ti step up

Hi Guys
I currently have an EVGA 780 Classified running an easy 1250/1750 overclock at 1.1875v.

I have until the end of the month to choose whether I "step up" to a standard 780ti at a cost of approx. £120.00.

Common sense is telling me don't bother but I'm still really tempted:)

By my reckoning, based upon my GPU score of 12025 on the Firestrike benchmark, my OC Classy appears faster than a stock 780ti and virtually as fast as a 780ti running a mild OC.

In a nutshell, will it be worth the gamble, especially as I seem to have a good Classy and can only upgrade to a standard 780ti with a ref cooler.

Opinions please??:)

As you have a good Classy I say don't bother.
My Classy was rubbish and the step up was only £17 so I went for it :)
I should have it tomorrow.

As others have said, not worth it and 1250 @ 1.18v is very good, now stop messing about and give it some volts and let it fly!! :D

I must admit that I do appear to have fallen lucky with the Classy which has a high ASIC of 86.

I've not really optimised it yet as I simply added a touch of voltage and as stated, it's absolutely rock solid at 1250/1750.

I just have this yearning to own a 780ti and would have to trust to luck that I got a good one.

I guess that as EVGA bin their GPU's, the chances are probably quite slim on a standard product?

I dont think you would notice any difference, i went from a 780 SC AXC to a Gigabyte 780ti OC, the Evga i had was not the greatest clocker and did not boost that great outta the box either, i bought the ti on an impulse but when it was reduced by 100 quid, so took a gamble and happy to say it was worth if for me, not worth it going to a reference card tho, you would be parting with £££ and seeing maybe less performance than you have now, but i feel your pain, the itch is a pain in the arse lol

Pick up a second classy. A ref ti will easily be faster especially if it is a good clocker but frankly it makes more sense to go SLI as you'll see much better gains.
