How do you prefer to unlock your phone?

Just a thought - people that simply swipe might as well use a very simple pattern, such as horizontally across, no? Just as easy, but with slightly more security if the person that has your phone doesn't figure out your, albeit basic, pattern?

Before I used a PIN, now use Touch ID. To be completely honest Touch ID for me is far, far quicker than swiping, so it's the best of all worlds IMO.

Business: 6 digit PIN - enforced (iOS/Android)
Business Secure: 10 alpha numeric - enforced.
Personal: swipe

Personal phones if stolen present no real risk due to backups etc - I'll survive someone writing something rude on a social site and I can lock it down remotely using more than one method so I'm OK with it being extremely low sec but the business devices are a huge pita. The business phones have Voda's lockdown system on them which is pretty much the same as other lockdowns but with carrier integration. It's nice (if a bit.. creepy) but the rules are strict.

Out of interest, why does anyone bother with a pin?

So people can't access my phone, along with work and personal emails, Facebook, passwords, bank accounts, trip plans, documents....

The question is why would you not? If I lose my phone then them making a few phone calls with my sim is the least of my worries....

I use a pin but would prefer to use picture pin like that used by Windows 8.

the best way tbh:

Blackberry Picture Password.

Drag a known number from a randomly generated grid overlay of numbers to a particular place on a picture of your choice.

Can't do that on android it needs to be 4 dots long. It is too much effort to go across & then down :p

Who is going to steal my phone? It's too big to steal successfully from me without me realising and it also never leaves my breast or jeans pocket :p

..because i am not a child and am capable of keeping hold of my phone lol. I have never lost a phone in my life, maybe i am lucky or something? But leaving a phone around somewhere has never occurred to me. When i am out and about it doesnt leave my pocket unless i am using it, and at home the worst someone can do is post on your facebook, hardly a big deal.
