Anyone got and use these tablets I'm thinking about purchasing one mainly for the ms office so I can do office work when I'm sitting around waiting whilst on site and in between jobs when I'm not driving
How do you rate them

Usually use an ipad at work but it's lacking the office

Cheers for that but cheapest I've seen for them is just under 400 I've seen a surface tablet for less than 300

Not seen any surface pros that cheap.
Surface Rt certainly but that isn't proper windows.

U also want to stay away from first Gen surface pros if battery life is important

You'll want to budget for a Type Cover if you go with a Surface. No brainer really if you want to use Office.

I highly recommend the Type Cover 2.

Are you on about the dell venue ? The 8 pro is £249 absolutely bargain and I will getting one very aoon., runs full windows 8.1 not that RT rubbish.

Lol rubbish. Pull another one. People on the bandwagon which needs to be derailed.

8" will be rubbish for office.

Rt is absolutely fine for what he wants which is office.

I would get a type cover over touch cover if thats the main use.

Haven't used the laptop for excel/word since getting surface rt. Which means laptop is now purely a games machine.
I only have a touch cover but that's because I only use it for general household budget and such like.

As an owner of surface pro 2, i can thoroughly recommend it. The Surface 2 looks great too, but I needed the pen which is only available on the pro.

The RT Surface needs a pen. It would be an excellent differentiator, and wouldn't cannibalize the Pro (since a 'pro' would need/want the horsepower and/or x86 compatibility too)

If you know anyone that's at uni or secondary school there is an offer on at the moment where you can get a 64Gb with touch cover for £279.

To be honest I had never had a play with one till my sister got one for my neice for xmas. I loved it and I am going to be getting a Lenovo Miix 2 8 soon.
