Credit Card balance transfer questions

Anyone know....

1. If you do a balance transfer to a new card does your previous credit card / account just continue on as normal? (totally different cards / companies) Or does it insist / assume that you have closed that card account?

2. Can you do more than one balance transfer during the free interest balance transfer period allowed? Or just one??

Yes, it does. All that happens is that the existing account receives a credit from the new provider.

Or does it insist / assume that you have closed that card account?

No.

Up to the card issuer, but usually you can do more than one.

No account continues til u close it and yes up to your limit- usually states the terms if you have a look

Thank you both. It's the first issue I'm mainly concerned with. Have a BIG purchase on the horizon so a long term balance transfer would make sense, but I use my main card every day for all manner of things and don't wish to lose it.
