3 years ago i was caught with a small amount of cocaine by the police , however i cant remember what i was given for it possibly a verbal caution (i didn't receive anything from the police) and i wasn't taken to the police station i just had to fill in a few forms and was let go.

However now i am applying for my shotgun license and i have to declare if i have had any convictions or cautions and im not sure whether i have or not.

Is there anyway i can find out if i have a caution or not ?

You need to get an enchanced CRB check http://www.acro.police.uk/subject_access.aspx

Edit: in fact, a normal CRB check will also show cautions.

If you filled in any forms, I'm guessing it was a street caution.

In which case you've been recorded as being an offender for the crime of "possession of a Class A drug" in the PNC and it will light up like a Christmas Tree when the local Firearms Licensing Officer runs a check on you for the SGC application.

If you fill in the SGC application truthfully, you'll get a polite rejection letter a few weeks later.

If you lie on the form about your caution, expect a personal visit from the police as you've just committed another offence.
