Isn't that people who dress as.... well, furry things?

I'm sure on the wide spectrum of human oddities there must be those who just like to show a teddy bear the time of their life.

If only I were more proficient with electronics.

Teddy: "Say my name"
Gogl: "Teddy Ruxpin"
Teddy: "SAY MY NAME!"
Gogl: "TEDDY RUXPIIIIIIIIIIN!"
Teddy: "Who's your Teddy?"
Gogl: "Uhhaarrhh... How did my life come to this?" *sobs*
Teddy: "I'm leaving you for WereBear"

Oh baby that's a whole different thread ;) Some people do like getting it on with plushies, but I don't think that's 'normal' for furries either :p

In a nutshell, furries find [anthropomorphic] animals arousing. Since they don't exist, there are two outlets for such feelings: drawn pictures, or dressing up in fursuits and finding someone like-minded.

If you're brave, you could venture somewhere like e621.net. Don't say I didn't warn you!

It fits the discussion so I'll say this: a lot of furries don't care about the gender of the 'anthros' depicted in the art. Even those who wouldn't be gay in RL with their own kind.

Your self-awareness is both horrifying and entertaining so thanks, I guess.

I must be getting old. When the hell did 2 male friends start kissing each other as a form of a greeting, that has always been a female thing?!

No, but it is getting more trendy.

Recently, a normally very straight male friend of mine started sending kisses with texts. I asked him what the hell he was doing when he started it, because it's totally unnecessary and just weird. He doesn't do it now.

It's basically a trend now and it's ****ing weird. Somehow it's seeping into the mainstream from hipsterdom and it's very unusual.

I'm with you on this one. In my 40's now and if any of my mates did this they wouldn't live it down. How times have changed.

Anyway, did anyone see the Bears game last night...?

FTFY

No but seriously, when me and my best mate meet we grab hands and do the one arm hug pat-back respect thing.

Kissing your best mate is definitely gay, or at the very least incredibly feminine- you aren't females. Find another way to greet each other.

Yes, it's very feminine...by mainstream current standards in this country.

Tiny woo. Gender is made up on the fly. It means nothing. It's as ephemeral and meaningless as fashion.

Look at the colour pink, for example. In less than 100 years in this country it has gone from being extremely masculine to being extremely feminine to being quite mildly feminine.

Lacy frills used to be masculine here. Short dresses were very masculine in ancient Rome and skirts even more so. Ordinary manly men would wear short dresses, but only the manliest of manly men, the legionaries, wore skirts, and the manliest of the legionaries (centurions, who earned their status and often died for it) also wore brightly coloured ornate headgear. Fabulous, darling, fabulous!

Gender is always changing and never genuinely important.
