Just a word of warning about CEX

My friend bought a phone from them for her Mum for Christmas. She found out the memory was full and they couldn't figure out why, until she went in the downloads folder and found a lot of graphic porn. She threw the phone on the floor when she opened the folder. They wouldn't take it back though as she threw away the receipt, but I still told them to complain. I still don't think they have. Not really a smart thing to do.

What's the issue? Complimentary porn?
 
They're just a business looking to make profit. It should be no surprise they offer you low cash.

You should have took your laptop to Robin Hood Express where they pay over the odds just to help the needy.

That happens to a lot of companies, I got a B grade external drive from OcUK jam packed with pirated films.

I always check drives when i buy from CEX, you don't know what awesome stuff you can find. One 2TB drive i bought had pictures and videos of some up and coming band. They were quite good too!

Only if you are unable to use a PC without the Start menu (i.e. someone who doesn't know the correct keyboard shortcuts)

Otherwise, Windows 8 is much better. Starts and shuts down much faster (thanks to the semi-hibernate shut down it uses), comes with anti-virus/spyware.. etc etc

Sales figures agree with me.
 
I'm banned from my local CEX for merely standing my ground and arguing my case with them when they sold the missus a couple of second hand Steamworks games as new and then refused her a refund when rumbled.

Windows 8 has a bad rep peoples people don't like change. In fact, a large proportion of people who see me with my Windows 8 laptop assume I'm using 7 because people don't fully appreciate how similar they are.

80% of what I do on my Windows 8 laptop looks and functions identical to the way it does on 7 except the laptop boots incredibly fast and there's no old school Start menu.

Don't fear the change my friends, embrace it :D

Also, CEX is like Cash Converters or anywhere like that really. They try to get the best deal for themselves and of course they do, their interest is in reselling.

Also, I've got to wait ages before I get access to MM and that makes me :(
