I thought that Android has outnumbered iOS worldwide for a while now? (although iOS devices are still more profitable per unit). Nice to see Nokia making a slight comeback on that chart though with their Series 40.

Nice user name btw :p

On sales Its outnumbered ios for ages and by a massive amount.
What's more interesting is how fast wp8 is catching up with ios.

IPhones EU market share is pretty darn low.

I can't even see those stats being right as android has been out selling ios for years.
Those stats dont really tell much other than ios use to have a large marketshare. Sale stats are more useful to see trends.
Uk
70.1% android
16% ios
12% wp8

Its even better in Italy,
Ios 10%
Wp8 16%

Cant see whats so odd about it, an operating system that is on phones that you can buy for less than £100 compared to an OS thats on 2 phones which cost £400+...its a no brainer really especially when both operating systems are pretty similar in what they do as a whole but Android being far more customisable than iOS will ever be.

This has changed my whole out look on life.

Firstly im surprised they were ever in the lead, secondly im not gonna sleep for a week in fear.

There's so many different charts you could drag out depending on what your objective is. If you look at usage figures then iOS does very well because a lot of the people who now have low end Android are coming from phones that made calls and texts and haven't really gotten used to the idea of a smartphone yet.

Google objective of taking as much market share as possible with Android is great for them, not so good for the profit that their OEMs are making (which is none except for Samsung).

And while Apple have a tiny market share for their computers, but seem to be the only company who can make any real money doing it.

I wonder which has generated more £'s of sales, iPhone or Android phone. I'm sure the average iPhone is quite a bit more expensive than the average Android phone.

I don't really trust that graph. Series 40 cannot have increased its market share since it isn't a smartphone os and I didn't think nokia was producing phones again yet

Android is much more popular due to its low costs and to be honest it equals the iPhone in hardware and even surpasses it in user friendliness.

I am interested in the windows adoption rate. Makes me wonder if I should learn their phones sdk
