Taiji Cove. Why.

It says why in the article you link:

most of the pod faced slaughter for human consumption, with the meat likely to fetch millions of dollars. A few would be sent to captivity in marine parks, it said.

Have you ever seen me state i'm fine with it?

So why haven't we seen threads against it then, declaring how disgusting it is.
More cute syndrome and double standards going on. Either its acceptable or its not. Non of this half house nonsense. Just more western propaganda, we don't see it as acceptable, there for its not. Yet there's no good reason why it isn't. They aren't endangered. Its just like how some countries ear cats/dogs but for some reason most people find it offensive.

Why? Because the Japanese pretty much eat every living organism... Dunno if dolphin is tasty or not though AFAIK the meat is likely to contain a fair few chemicals these days, I'd probably not eat it myself...

I'd be more annoyed at the Japs for hunting endangered whales despite dolphins being cute and friendly etc...

And trawling and other fishing methods aren't, pull another one.

Of course. Most methods are terrible. But it's taken to another level in Taiji where the whales/dolphins are stabbed and left to bleed to death and mothers are taken from babies (which are dumped back into the ocean after the slaughter, to fend for themselves) - which is why there's always an uproar about it.

This. They aren't endangered and will be used for food. It's not like they are being hunted for sport or something!

[Edit] I wouldn't eat dolphin meat, but have no morale authority in telling other people not to.

Nothing you mentioned is any different to methods we accept.
