Titanfall (XB1/360)

Lmfao, the above talking about graphics they have seen in heavily compressed videos and an ALPHA build of the game.......ALPHA.

In my experience it's likely you wont see a great leap in the graphics between public Alpha/Beta releases and the full game, especially concerning console games.

I personally think this looks great, there's a couple of flat textures in there but that's likely to keep decent performance on the Xbone/360. Can't wait to pick this up on PC.

Ok I was hooked last night. Incredible fun.

Was going to post the same thing. In all the betas I've been in there are people who say the final build will look 10x better but it never does. There are 2 months left til release, so they are most likely bug-fixing. I think what we've seen is simply necessary to hit 60fps on the XBone/360. The PC version should have higher res textures, but I doubt anyone will really care since the gameplay looks awesome. I'm currently playing FC3 on PS3 and without the PC version to compare it to, I don't feel I'm missing anything.

I hope this replaces CoD as the go to game for FPS if for no other reason that forcing the CoD developers to up their game.

It is what it is. When they make the graphics better, people will say they are better.

At this point when it's going through balance playtesting, I doubt they will be re-working all the art assets at this late stage. Art assets are one of the most time consuming parts of content creation.

My arse, it sounds like people scrounging to have another little dig at the XO, plus yes, I don't see why their cant be many textures to come in the final form.

Not that I'm caring, it looks like fantastic fun.

If people have time to stop and stare at bad textures then they are playing the game wrong :p It looks too fast paced for me to give a damn about how the bricks in a building looks like.

1080P/1440P art is always going to look better than 720P. That's just a fact.

Does anyone know what the FOV was in the alpha, and if it's going to be changable on the PC? It didn't look terrible, but it didn't look like it was above 95/100 either.

Christ, get a PC if you want decent graphics!

Although didn't the Halo Beta have compressed textures during the Beta to keep the download size down?

Is there a list/description of Titanfall gametypes anywhere? While team deathmatch is fun, I've always found (from games like the Unreal Tournament series) that some of the more structured team games are more fun. Objectives, choke points, goals, flag captures etc just have a lot more depth than simply killing everyone you see on the opposite team, so I was thinking that Titanfall would do some of that as well.

If there is I've not read anything about it. Like you though I prefer objectives in FPS MP games so I'm hoping for some of that. Bog standard DM gets boring very quickly for me.

So "grunts" are just AI controlled instead of human players....because in that video the grunts don't do much by the looks of it.

Whats the point? Just to make up the numbers and make the maps look more filled with "players"?

To me it looks like it ensures that opposing teams 'bump' into each other more often than not - shame they dont really even attempt to do much

Double jumping a Titan and blowing up their core seems far better tactic than using a Titan gun when on foot - also probably a very good tactic to distract Titan pilots as Titans appear to be pretty disposable (love how you dont die when they blow up)

ps3ud0

It looks like you can call down a Titan every 2-3 minutes, so it's kind of like the Titans in UT3, but without having to get kills in first.

I've also seen the trailers where the pilot gets ejected from a destroyed Titan, but he goes straight up before coming back down, so he's a pretty easy target if someone is on the ball to target him.
