Aspirations for children

OP - can tell you don't have kids. You cannot plan what your child will want to do for employment before they are even born.

Having children, you realised that they are individuals and will ahve their own plans/desires/skills. You cannot decide for them before they are even born.

Well I don't need to rely on my offspring to fulfill my failures in life, like most people replying here, so I'm going to go with whatever makes them happy.

They will be the best in whatever they do because we will give them them a solid upbringing and the best education money can buy.

Its not about working in a particular area of expertise, it's all about being better than everyone else :)

Most people here don't have any offspring at all.

And the more you push them into a role, the more they will rebel against it I am guessing?!

Mage
Cleric paladin

Failing that

Something Sciency, be it applied or teaching
Something medical, nurse, doctor that sort of thing
Police officer.

Basically anything with career progression and will be more than just a job to her.

Hmm, while I would never push any child into doing what I wanted, I would encourage them in their own choices..my preference would be...

1. Chartered Accountant. (Great diverse prospects and earning potential across pretty much any sector)

2. Doctor/Vet (Difficult but brilliant Job satisfaction and earning potential)

3. Linguist/Translator (Good money to be had, but the prospect of global travel and potential across a range of sectors being the defining benefit)

Is that what you wanted Burnsey? What for?

Presumably this is the sort of answer you were looking for/looking for abscence of? It's gotta be some sort of police related thing, right?

Really? I was thinking something about gender stereotypes and male parents pushing their daughters towards certain careers. Or something.

In the spirit of this threads dubious ethics I shall aim (in my experience) to maximise cash for minimal possible time working.

1. Dentist - Every dentist of mine has worked 4 days a week 9-5
2. Vet - The cuddly type, not the farm ones. A friend of a friend was a vet and retired at 50. When asked how he replied "people will do anything for their cats".
3. Stuck between Surgeon or a Solicitor.

Balls to #3. I'll move to Cheshire and she can become a trophy wife for some footballer

1. Business owner (not a CEO - The person who actually owns all of the shares)
2. Engineer (proper one not the BT repairman)
3. Journalist
