Bulk buying monster energy UK

I like how people take cold and flu medication when they are already ill.

That's kind of the point. Who the **** drinks an energy drink when they're already jacked up? :/

You're willfully missing the point. I'm hardly ever lacking in 'energy' [whatever that means in this context] and don't drink energy drinks. If I did, they would create spikes of energy and troughs of torpor, during which I'd feel the need to consume more energy drinks to bring me back up. At the same time I'd be more likely to put on weight because of the extra calories and enough carbs per drink as a bowl of pasta.

One can of Monster is about 240kcal. But those I know who are into these drinks have two or three a day, which is basically [calorifically] adding another meal to your day.

I think the point is that when people drink energy drinks over time, they appear more tired overall than before. Probably due to being dependant on caffine and not sleeping as well.

Stay away, the dentist treatment they will cause in the future will make you cringe and let alone the liver issues.

Just drink coffee pre-workout even though you do not like it...if working out real early that is otherwise go with porridge+banana/cereal/yoghurt.

I despise energy drinks now, used to drink loads when i was 20 or so not touched one in years.

I'm no doctor.. but artificial sweeteners aren't good for you.

I know they arn't the best for you.

I sleep fine, 8 hours a night I aim for and usually get 7.5/8.0.

As far as calories are concerned the sugar free monster has very little. The full sugar ones do have 240 calories though.

Are pre-workout drinks that much better for you?

It has sod all to do with caffeine, its the aspartame and taurine that fs you up not caffeine. I know I drink 10+ mugs of coffee a day. ;)

If I touch anything with the above in, I cannot sleep and my organs swell up.... Well thats what it feels like!!!

Yeah I could do with knowing some good pre-workout foods.

Im trying to cut my carbs down because it means less insulin therefore less fat storage. However on certain lifts I feel sick such as the deadlifts and a personal trainer was saying im not having enough carbs before a workout :/

Carbs are good for you, even for working out, it's sugar that causes you to get fat not carbs unless you are eating high carb food after 7pm or so then it can be an issue.(i stay off bread as much as i can or eat wholemeal for breakfast only)

I am no way an expert with weights but started last Sept yet been eating fairly good and doing well at the gym.I always have coffee before workout but i always workout at 6.30am so eating something before will not give me anywhere near as much boost.I've lost a lot of bodyfat yet my carb rate been fairly high each day but i eat stuff with very little sugar each day.

Ok :) I have carbs for breakfast/dinner (not a lot) but tea im cutting them out big time and tend to have a lot of stirfrys etc. Maybe gym nights throw a banana in before training.

They are still fine to have around lunchtime...you need energy back unless you want to walk around like you are a walking dead extra. :p

I am not keen on Stirfrys...rarely eat for fatloss.

Sweet potatoes/Chicken/Beef/Lamb/Vegetables/Cottage Cheese/Wholemeal Bread/Yoghurt/Cashew Nuts/Loads of Water are the main things to go by.

When i used to drink fizzy drinks regularly i always felt low energy/tired often now that never happens.:)

Going bed got gym at 6.30am, goodluck and stay off energy drinks!

I used to drink a lot of diet coke. I have cut down big time on that.

Feel better for it. I often add orange or blackcurrant to my water when at work. Probably just as rubbish as coke? lol
