Hi Guys

Just want opinions on the above question? my basic spec is as follows

Intel core i5-4440 - 3.1 ghz
8gb ram DDR3
1gb nivida Geforce GTX 650 graphics card

I know its not extreme but its fine playing such things like battlefield 4 on ultra settings. In a year I was then hoping to upgrade the graphics card.

Cheers
DC

are you sure you can run on ultra? my rig is currently higher spec'd than yours and i am struggling on bf4 running medium seen as it is that badly programmed!!

an xbox one had 8Gb of 2133mhz ram
8 core custom AMD cpu running at 1.75 Ghz
and Radeon 7000-series GPU

sony went for virtually the same cpu and gpu but its is running at 1.6Ghz and they clocked the gpu slighly higher

bearing in mind microsoft and sony will only allow players to access 6 out of the 8 cores presumably that the other 2 are for other tasks, kinect or what ever.

all in all mate your ok just now but there is always an excuse to upgrade :)

the gpu seems a bit weak, whilst spec-for-spc it might beat an xbox one for example, console games do make better use of their hardware - so you might not get the better performance youd hope for

Thanks for that, yeh double checked and on the game it is on ultra settings, might slow a little on one or two of the single player levels but nothing really to complain about.

Will prob update my graphics card in a years time .

What is the point of that question, do you mind me asking?

Are you weighing up whether to buy a console or just curious? :)

Lol :)

I got a ps4 and xbox one (had to sell all my old consoles and games to get em btw) but i'm still building new gaming rig mainly for FPS games.

Build your pc (as decent as you can) and get a console anyway ;)

No not at all, was just hoping that after paying a decent amount, my PC would be better that the xbox one..... also if It desperately needed an upgrade or if I could wait a year or two,

:)

There is no way a 1Gb 650 can play BF4 on ultra settings at any decent resolution. What is the actual res of your monitor. If you don't know then tell us what make and model your monitor is.
