Maybe looking replace my Mk1 Focus TDCI soon as I need something more comfortable, roomy and more motorway friendly. Would like to be able to average 45+mpg. Any suggestions?

Mondeo TDCI.

Skoda appeals more than a Mondeo. But I think Superbs are out of my budget sadly. I want something very reliable, if it has to go into the garage then I have to take my Evo and if I work in Hampshire that's a 180 mile round trip and over half a tank of Super gone. :D

180 miles and that's only over half a tank? Your Evo is pretty economical compared to my Scooby then:p

Facelift Superb is out of budget clearly.
What about a Mk1? 130 pd tdi is bombproof and the long wheel base makes for a very comfy ride. Find a Laurin and Clement and you've got all the spec you'd ever want.

I'd take that over a Mondeo TDCI.

wat, have you even checked AutoTrader?

Also what's the gig, travelling to a single place or work or are you on the road?
Why get a scabby Mk2 when there are plenty of nice Mk 1s?
It's effectively a Chinese Passat which is no bad thing. You know what you're getting.
