MSI R9 290 Gaming Bios switch

I bought the msi r9 290 gaming edition card and for the life of me couldn't find the bios switch mentioned on the little glossy paper card that came with it

does the 290 not have one? just the 290x or did i not look hard enough, the diagram showed it on the fan area but nothing around there or anywhere i could see.

i dont think i need to switch it so its a non issue but i'd like to know

On my reference 290s it's underneath where a watercooling port would go. Start at the DVI ports end and look along the edge until you see it. It's tiny.

My reference 290's have them. As Orangey said, it's the tiniest switch ever!

Usually it is near where the crossfire connectors would be (since 290s don't have one)

its on the card its self top left as it sits in the case and its the smallest dip switch ever!

it switches the bios from uefi oc mode to stable test mode, (default is the uefi bios oc profile which is what it's on now)

That's handy then as I haven;t switched . I was hoping it may be responsible for my core clock woes

Got one of these recently and have no idea what 'Position 1' or 'Position 2' BIOS switch does. I've tried both and at stock both seem to go up to 922Mhz on the core clock.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the two switches on the MSi 290 Gaming?

I had an MSI 290 and it had this switch. I'm sure it's there to help compatibility with UEFI BIOS and Legacy BIOS or something similar.

290X ref uses it for uber mode, on the 290 it is merely a spare BIOS (but as said can be used for UEFI/Legacy, unlocked/stock, etc combinations)
