Just wondered how you were finding it in games like BF4 and COD Ghosts?

Want to get one as an interim upgrade from the 5770 im using now.

since this post is nearly off te first page i can say coming from a 6950 which is similar, it should play bf4 on high at 40 ish fps, cod ghosts should play better, unless its much more demanding than other cods... my 6950 played black ops and mw3 maxed out at like 60 fps i think. basically plays most games maxed out at playable fps or with a few compromises like lower aa or high rather than ultra.

6950 is a beast of a card, nothing really matches its price range. Was about £200 2 years ago and cards at same ish price today are only slightly better.

Yeah Ive got a 6950 2gb version too, had it for 2 and a half yrs now and cant see me upgrading from it anytime soon, as it still runs all my games fine.

Cheers. Sold my main 3770K/7970 rig to fund xmas ( 5 kids  ) so currently on the rig in my sig. Cant afford a fortune so was going to drop £140 on a BF4 edition Sapphire 270.

I'd spend the extra tenner on the Gigabyte 270X on TWO. Faster card, better cooler, and a UK RMA service.

EDIT: Or see what you can find on the MM.

My 2gig 6950 died last year and i got a R9 270 for $180 to replace it. So far it performs better than my old card. I got BF4 free with the new card but its ****, the game is **** not the card.

Got a HIS 270x & for the price (£115 from the market) I am really impressed at the performance.
Haven't found a game yet that it won't handle. Skyrim, Batman, Tomb Raider, Assasins Creed all play on 1080P ultra settings.

Firestrike benchmark with a mild overclock scores 6K.

Recently 200 quid gave you almost double performance potential (Overclocked/latest drivers) with a 7950.

7970/R9 280X's are around 230ish.

Iv had my 5770 for years, its probably been the best card iv owned for the money, still plays games at playable frame rates today. Recently upgraded to a 270x, very noticeable difference in performance, and seems like a good upgrade for the money, i hope it lasts just as long as my 5770.

Now consoles are on par with PC architecture, there's no reason it shouldn't last just as long, or even longer!

I'm on 6870 and I have to admit I'm impressed it's still going strong!
I do have to lower some of the AA settings in a couple of games, but other than that it still plays BF3, Skyrim, Bioshock Infinite and anything else I've tried to throw at it on high settings.

I recently bought a 7850 for my younger brother, and at £140 ish i'd say it's definitely worth a look.

That is good to know, am looking to upgrade in the next month or two, maybe £200-£300 but benchmarks where not showing anything that was a big enough boost. Will have to make a thread when the time comes.

I did look at the R9 270x but:

Not much in it
