Hi guys,

I bought a Hansspree 27" (1920x1200) monitor around 2009 time and it has now finally packed in (display keeps turning off and the graphics go haywire).

So I'm in the market for a new monitor having not kept up to date with them at all and have only just discovered IPS monitors etc.

I won't be gaming (I use the ps4 on my TV downstairs for that) and will be using the monitor for music production so screen space is the most important factor.

The question I have is what kind of a difference will I see having been used to 1920x1200 to going to 1920x1080 which is what 90 percent of 27" monitors seem to be today?

Also has anyone got the Viewsonic VX2770SML and offer their opinion of it?

Thanks.

What's your budget?

£230 ish not massive but like i say i dont do gaming or watch films on it really, some sport (well football when the missus is hogging the TV downstairs) I watch F1 downstairs though.

Was thinking more in terms of trying to get you to a 2560x1440 27 inch.

But that probably a bit too much...

You will feel the difference going down to 1080p, but you will adjust.

You can just about afford to stick with 1920x1200 for £230, which I would suggest that you do. This Asus is rather well priced.

I have both aspects myself and I really prefer 16:10 for most things, especially productivity or web browsing. It does not make a whole lot of difference to me in most games I have tried at both. Some offer a slightly wider field of view at 1080P though.
