Going through my tin box in loft and found this lighter - stripped it and gave it a clean - needs flint and washer on plug nut and should be in working condition.

I stopped smoking 40 yrs ago and now have no idea of the make of this lighter.

Does anyone recognise it at all.

Maybe those markings in the bottom right will help?

Although, i've never heard of a company called 21/01/2014 15:12.

Go back to the shop you purchased it from and ask if they can tell you where it is from.

Have you tried to open it and check for any markings? Failing that I suggest you go on antiques roadshow. Let us know when you are on, it'll be good to put a face to DXP55.

I remember those type of lighters ..in fact I was given one years and years ago...remember my Mother having one also...and that would have been mid 1970s maybe

Colibri ? Nar bought one of those much later - I did have one laying around but it was worn out.

This lighter is all aluminium - no seams on it that I can see and it's solid like milled out of one piece.

ps - Did a google picture search - came up with Dunhill but don't think so - Milano - Majestic.
