BBC news already has plenty of turd in it, if that's your thing
About the only thing I watch on BBC news is the weather, as everything else is broadcast from some unknown village in the middle east. Oh and don't get me started on the movie reviews
BBC is probably the most reliable source of news on the planet. Going back to the 90s I do not recall any newspaper/website/television that comes even close to the quality and lack of bias I regularly see on their website.
"Most British workers have seen their take-home pay rise in real terms in the past year, the government claims."
"Overall crime fell by 10% in England and Wales in the year to September 2013, official figures show."
"Police forces across England and Wales are routinely manipulating crime statistics in order to meet targets, a committee of MPs has heard. "
All your examples are unbiased news reports and each article makes perfectly clear who said what and in what context. Furthermore, considering an year has just ended, it is perfectly reasonable to expect more statistical reports than usual.
The natural disposition of anyone contributing to the comments section of the BBC, Guardian, Telegraph and so forth is cynicism and a defeatist attitude. I don't rate those people too highly and will gladly stand apart from them.
The BBC isn't accepting this coalition assertion without challenging it - the article is simply a reflection of what the coalition said. If you actually read the article they provide a number of different views.
News can hardly be called news these days, poltical propaganda and loaded stories along with a few breasts seems a better description of the crap they put out.
But whats new "Tories control media to make it seem like they aren't doing a crap job for everyone except top earners" That's been the case for decades.
For me, English politics is a lot like deciding which turd you want to take a bite from. Labour, Lib Dem, Conservative, they're all corrupt arsesholes and ******s. But I suppose on balance you must vote for the one who is likely to ruin the least amount of stuff.
Also, anything that's gone anywhere near Murdoch I avoid. Hence I end up at the BBC for my general news. I read the economist for most of my news though, even though it isn't exactly good for 'breaking' news.
Has anybody else noticed lately the BBC is awash with Dave the Saviour stories at the moment, telling us crime is down, wages are up, the nhs is spiffing and Dave is God. Oh also the lib dems are in the midst of a sex scandal and labour are.... invisible. Is there an election coming up or something?

Manipulation of statistics for political gain should be a crime.
As should the media reporting it as factual.

From the Sky News Website....
''Last week the UK Statistics Authority, the statistics watchdog, withdrew "gold-standard" status from the police-recorded crime figures, which began in the 19th century, because of the "accumulating evidence" that they were unreliable''.
Why wasn't this reported in this article?

According to the Police there was no crime in Tottenham for the first 3 days of rioting. They certainly took no action and made no arrests.

This really is miraculous - in only 2 days the BBC and the ONS have told us that:
Unemployment has fallen,
Crime is down,
And that more schools are hitting government targets!
And to top it all off, we got a lovely Party Political Broadcast from the Conservative Party after last nights 6 o'clock news.
Unbelievable! It is literally government propaganda!
If you had actually read the reports you'd find out the national crime survey is independent of police statistics...
While we can all be anti something your apparent rabid hatred of either the conservatives, lib dems, or certain policies seems to be showing through, rather than any actual problem.
Agreed, I was attempting to point out how daft it is to claim that the reason for the recession and impending recovery is down to any single political party and their current policies.
