So a lady friend of mine has been looking for a new job for some time and was offered a work trial last week at a local nursery, all went well and she got the job! Quit her old job and started this week. Today she goes in and works her shift only to be told she's now not good enough and won't be required. She turned down another nursery job the same day she took this job too.

From three jobs to none. I'm tempted to go and give them a piece of my mind on her behalf.

Welcome to the capitalists dream of the "flexible workforce".

Don't accept the lie that it's for the benefit of the workers.

They gave her a trial week. You tell people THEN that they're not good enough, not offer them the job first.

She was working in a nursery, with children.

Any person working with vulnerable members of society should and will be monitored to ensure they are 'good enough' to continue working with the people entrusted in their care.

If her employers saw something which made them believe she wasn't up to the job, it wouldn't matter if she was employed there for a week or a year.

I think by law she's entitled to keep one of the children as compensation so pick one up on the way back from work to cheer her up.
