You don't need terrorists when you've got Americans...

Thats a worrying figure, although I wouldnt say "all of them were likely terrorists" maybe some, and certainly the suicide vest.

What you have to remember in America is that its a gun ridden country.

Maybe its a mixture of terrorists, and American citizens who forgot to leave there loaded "protection piece" at home

The vest was inert and was an instructional aid.

That's irrelevant really :/

As they mentioned, if they really need to carry such items, they need to plan and contact any relevant shipper to notify them so they can have pre-planned checks/investigations for special grounds of shipment.

A lot seem it to think it is perfectly reasonable to carry loaded weapons as long as they have no intention to use them on the flight.

By their reasoning then it's perfectly reasonable for a terrorist to carry a bomb as long as they're not intending to use it on that flight?

I know I'm probably blowing it out of the water somewhat but hey ho :p

The inert training suicide vest?

I didn't notice the inert part (see my comments above) and even still, no one was clearly notified about this going through security, so that is no excuse, if anything, this should have been pre-planned, pre-notified and had some sort of upfront checks, and special shipment arrangement assigned to it.

Thats like sending a fake bomb through a courier and saying "ooops, sorry forgot to mention this is a training device", but a lot worse, seeing as it was destined to go through airport security, and on to a plane.

Well not really when you imply the person was a terrorist. The person would have been a defence instructor, one with a low IQ, but not a terrorist.

Edit: But I know what you mean from your edited comments. He should have sent it via ground mail.

My 11 year old son had a cast on his arm to treat a broken hand and your screeners forced him to stick his arm into the baggage x-ray machine. How safe is this? How much radiation did he receive by your 4th amendment violation?

Haha. Grim.

Why do some of the news in the US sound like they came from a Third World country? And they're saying the TSA is a waste of money? Would these crazy people be ok with a fellow passenger carrying a shotgun(?!!?!?) on a bloody plane?

How does one protect their liberty with a shotgun on a plane? Strange place, the US.
