My sister wants a tablet that works with Sky Go. I can't really help 'cos I'm happy with my kindle and lost touch with what's happening in the tablet world.

She did buy a kindle fire HDX 8.9 (64GB £330 from a large department store) even though I told her it wouldn't work with Sky. Luckily it's faulty and she can get her money back. :)

Requirements
10" ish screen
HD or better resolution
light weight (she liked the fact that the Kindle was lighter than Air :p )
cheap
works with Sky Go

iPad air (though its an expensive way to do it, it will def work and be light). Be careful with some of the cheap Android tablets - if its rooted (as some are by default) then it won't work...

That's heavier than my old Kindle HD8.9! 603g vs 567g

iPad Air then as above, you're not gonna get anything lighter with a HD screen. Note 10.1 2014 would be a good alternative but I'm guessing that's too heavy aswell, mind you I've had both and the Note 10.1 didn't feel that much heavier to hold at all.

Cheap and Sky Go?

Nook HD+ sounds like it'll fit the bill for under £150, shop around and you can get closer to £100.

I got my missus the 7", Sky Go works on there without a hitch. The 9" version may be a little smaller than your expected 10", but the high resolution screen, price and out of the box Google Play Store for Android goodness without the fuss of flashing a custom Rom (though the possibility is there).

Plus, Sky Go don't seem to work nicely with custom roms.
