Weird issue just happened today -purple textures?

I was playing Battlefield 4 earlier when I noticed part of the ground texture in a specific area looked weird. I thought it was just some bug with B4, but I noticed it again on a vehicle soon after -the entire thing seemed to have this purple lego pattern overlay haze to it.

I tried to screen capture it but it went back to normal before I could hit the key. Then I saw nothing else the rest of the game so thought nothing much of it....

However I went into Borderlands 2 with a friend shortly after and after about an hour, I was in an area when I saw the SAME issue appear on some textures in the game. Part of a railing and a box to be exact :/

I have never noticed this before, and it vanished rather quickly. It almost looked like some texture had failed to load or had been corrupted in memory? Then it was quickly corrected....

I am using a Geforce 680 right now, its only 11 months old. As is the rest of my system. Nothing is overclocked.

Any ideas on this?

Possibly a memory bug/memory getting too hot. If it does it again, do a complete clean install of drivers and see if that helps. Weird that it was very brief and purple.....

Might be worth taking off the shroud and making sure all the contact pads are ok, reapply some thermal whilst you're there. If it's doing it after a stint as Greg says it might be getting toasty. Either way it's only going to get worse

Nope. That I'd understand and immediately panic over lol. It was very specific to an object in the game, in B4 - the ground area which was static and I assumed was a texture missing in the game, then a vehicle that flickered and went back to normal quickly. It happened in borderlands 2 totally randomly, it wasn't in an intensive battle or anything, it was after actually we were looting so it was a period of inactivity). I am just thinking back and I recall once seeing a graphical artifact in a specific area in Black Ops 2. I wonder.

Thing is I am getting a 780 TI today! :/ was going to eBay this 680. Ugh. It's still under warranty of course. It's only 11 months old. I will have to get in Battlefield 4 again before I swap over and run for a bit. I was surprised at how playable the 680 was on Ultra to be honest. But it could well be driver related, I have let the Geforce Experience software just update without a clean install a few times. Another thing of note is that I had 'ShadowPlay' enabled but I haven't been able to find anyone commenting on the same issue.
