Corsair VS series PSUs

This appears to be a range cheaper than even the CX series:

These operate only at 230V.

These seem to use some really rubbish capacitors and are based on a CWT platform lower end than the one used in the CX series:

It seems Aishi main capacitors have been added to the mix.

Many system builders are starting to subsititute these for more expensive PSUs too!!

The CX series already had cheap internals with poor quality caps, how did they find someone to make a even crappier psu? Next they will have Ez-Power as their OEM!!

That sounds very disappointing, I don't like the way Corsair is going with cheap PSUs. Remember the CX400? That was a great cheap PSU...

Things went downhill rapidly after that. They got established using Seasonic as the OEM and then changed to cheaper OEMs with inferior units.

It seems the Corsair CX430W V3 might be having better capacitors than the previous two versions. However,the XFX PRO 450W is still better overall IMHO.

Gibbo has stock, but it's hidden from the website as he was out of stock. I've given him a nudge to put them back live now as his stock has landed now.

It looks like even OcUK are using them for some of their systems:

It does not say RM 550W so points to a VS 550W being used.

It seems some other competitors are also using the same PSUs in systems upto £1000.

Wish I looked at this before ordering the SuperFlower Amazon 450W.

Though the pictures of the PSU advertised on OC are different to the ones in those reviews

We went through a stage of having decent PSU's at reasonable prices for lower end builds, but it seems like we're going backwards.

Those XFX's are always hard to find.

I had no problems getting hold of one recently??

The CX 430W V3 and CXM 430W have made some improvements to the caps they use now(better than the previous ones),but the XFX PRO 450W still is around at many retailers luckily.

What's wrong with the Superflower Amazon?

The earlier version used a Nippon Chemicon main cap and the new one a CapXon one.

At least the Antec VP450P uses mostly Teapos(although a few CapXon ones in the secondary too).

There are cheapo FSP PSUs which use Teapo and Samxon caps,so there is no excuse for far more expensive PSUs(like twice the price) to be using some cheap capacitors.

Yeah I know m8 I was the person who actually purchased the very last one they had one sale.

Though I have found it elsewhere for the same price as the Superflower.

I did ask over the phone how much the Antec one was he said it was £6 more though I couldn't pay £6 more cos I don't have enough funds in my (computer account) for it.
