AMD beats earnings estimates thanks to console sales, but APU outlook is bleak

Yeah I'm done, but I don't feel you should just back down when the articles themselves are being brought into question.

I'll admit I'm as much to blame if not more than most, but I'm definitely not defensive about particular brands which is how it escalates.

Hugs outside of interwebs for all parties.

C'mon lads, every thread is getting out of hand now. I love a bit of banter but it is starting to feel nasty. We all are PC enthusiasts I hope and regardless of what is in your machine (red or green), we share a common goal and that is to enjoy gaming.

Doesn't help people brand bait / defend as well to stealth start arguments. It's pathetic. Come on lads, please for the sake of everyone's sanity :p... knock it on the head and just agree to disagree and move away from the previously held grievances / whatever.

How MjFrosty can comment on anyone sticking together.

There is no bigger fanboy on this forum it's embarrassing to read on a daily basis.

That's also ignoring the fact how sad it is that anyone is a fanboy of two faceless companies whose only aim is to milk as much money out of you as possible while doing little in terms of pushing the envelope.

I use Nvidia but at least AMD are trying to do something a bit different lately.

I've owned a lot of AMD products. Trust me when I say this. I am the least brand based person you'll ever meet. You then go on to **** off NV in the same post. Are you thick or what? lol.

That makes you by definition a compete pratt, enjoy life and don't quote my username again. Let it go.

Still bitter over a past debate are we.

This is mostly the problem with you MJFrosty, explain where he went on and " **** off NV" in the same post?

Every single time ANYONE says ANYTHING positive about AMD you instantly translate it as anti Nvidia, every single time.

I use Nvidia but at least AMD are trying to do something a bit different lately.

This is **** off'ing NV somehow? No, in no way is this remotely interpretable as "Nvidia suck", or "Nvidia are evil", or anything. AMD are trying a new API, Nvidia aren't, this is positive for AMD and NOTHING for Nvidia, it's neither good or bad. But you jump down his throat and by the way, insult him, for saying precisely nothing bad about Nvidia at all.

I'm not getting involved any more. In fact I'll probably receive a ban for the above. You're just as bad if not worse DM, please just loosen up.

I'm no angel, but you constantly twist everything. Have you even read what he put? As in the entire post? Directly after calling a third party a fanboy.

regardless of what company the comment is aimed at I can't see how I'm a fanboy of anything. I switch to and fro constantly. All I initially did was point out a steep decline and you jumped on the defensive immediately. You're also the one that posted the original FreeSync article which had wind-up merchant all over it. So being fairly new here, I've obviously been a bit slow on the uptake in just not trying to put anything past you.

I think it's just best you either put me on ignore or I do the same and say no hard feelings.

Again the same people. I've just handed out a sus, I don't want to sus anyone else so please, tone it down and keep the discussion to the topic at hand.

The PC industry will only get worse, it will be a niche market by 2015, not helped by fighting among those big 3 trying to lock eachother out pushing up prices and brand feature dependencies. unless the big 3 can sort themselves out in working together to keep the PC industry alive all of them will be living off their stashed cash sooner than you think.

This is currently a self destructive industry, not helped by arguing among enthusiasts about whats better, perpetuating brand dependant features that newcomers find complicated and tiresome putting them right off, opting instead for the simplicity of a console.

yea i'm thinking of switching to console, they dont look as krap as they used to, i'm going to be researching this quite a lot

These kinds of threads are the reason i rarely bother posting in this forum :p

As for the actual OP. To me it sounds like good news? I mean with the exception of 16% drop in sales (what's understandable after christmas, consoles etc etc) howcome wallstreet look on this as bad news and shares drop?

To me it was good news and thought it might be good to share. Seems I was wrong :(
