Still, anyone can beat Cardiff atm.

Yeah, I was still hoping we'd get a central midfielder in but it doesn't look likely now.

I'm much more confident that we can 'get by' with the likes of Giggs and Jones in midfield when we've got a lot of firepower up front. A long way from being ideal though.
 
So the few players Everton said are injured are playing :/ were playing same way we did vs villa Henderson / gerrard in middle so we have just given Everton most of the control in middle unless it works this time but hasn't at all so far or even looked close too. We need three in the middle!

K. Davis (GK), Clyne, Wanyama, Ward-Prowse, Guly, Hooiveld, Isgrove.

Surprised to see Chambers ahead of Clyne, pleased to see Yoshida ahead of Hooiveld.

If Rodgers has decided to play Gerrard as the holding midfielder again we'll deserve to lose. Just hope it's Henderson and Gerrard and both barely move away from the defense or we'll be overrun.
 
Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Arteta, Flamini, Ozil, Cazorla, Gnabry, Giroud

Not bad, nice that we'll actually have a few players on the bench who can come on and change the game if need be. I'd expect Ozil to thrive against Southampton especially as Wanyama is injured still.

I hope that's what they do but there both too happy to bolt forward :( which in usual 433 case one of then can but way Rodgers sets em out just ends up as you said us over run and raging at our tv
 
Hope Poldi gets a start tonight, he did well against Coventry City and is by far our best finisher.

Rambo is back as well but not sure if he will start but glad he is back and hope he scores a goal or 2 for us tonight.

Hmmm i take it Poldi must be on the bench tonight, dont know what he needs to do in order to convince Wenger he should be starting lol.

Is Gibbs injured or something?? havent seen him start many games recently rather Monreal getting the nod over him??.

I think Gibbs is on the bench, there's nothing on Arsenal.com about him being injured so I imagine he's probably just being rested, I rate Monreal higher as an attacking threat anyway, even though he can be defensively suspect. Check your trust messages too! :)
 
Southampton starting Sam Gallagher, bit of a step up in game calibre for him, from cup games against lesser league teams to starting against the premier league leaders!

Not much choice available though with Lambert and Osvaldo unavailable.

I do like Monreal so am glad hes starting although he can be defensively weak. Just boggles my mind why Poldi doesnt start :/.

It would appear Gerrard is the player that's meant to stay back and Henderson's his runner. Problem is, as you say, that both get forward and neither stay back or get back quick enough. Considering how little we've pressed our opponents in the last few games Barkley could give us the runaround if he's even remotely fit and Barry's proved you just need to be disciplined to play the DM role so their defence will be hard to break down.
