Any watch experts? Is my Night Hawk fake?

It's hard to tell from pics but that box does look a bit tacky. All your points indicate its a fake.

To be honest if your saving over £100 from rrp its got to be dodgy.

I believe the GN-4W-S is a servicing code for citizen...it's not the watch model number
 
I see conflicting info about the GN-4W-S on the case back when googling.

Looks to me he has at the very least bundled the watch in the wrong box and supplied the wrong manual. Did it have tags around the bracelet?

I wouldn't worry about him not giving a full refund, he doesn't have a leg to stand on. The box looks like it's +7 years old and been handled multiple times, look at the creases all over the flaps

Worth just contacting Citizen
They can give you advice to check if it is fake and perhaps check serial number etc
You also have proof then when it comes to claiming from paypal
 
First off I'm not an expert but I do own a citizen eco drive watch (not night hawk). I've got the same gn-4ws on the back of my watch so I'd say thats more related to the 'eco drive' part of the watch.

If this was me I'd be getting onto ebay about it as that does not look new to me, even though it does have the plastic sticker on the underside of the watch. If I'm honest it looks like it 'fell off the back of a lorry'...

Also had a thought... my ecodrive case is cylindrical (lid pulls off and the watch sits at an angle inside) with a light corrugated texture and it looks like the nighthawk has the same style of case from a quick google.

I bought my brother a Nighthawk for his birthday last year.

Think I paid £240 for it in the end with a bit of a discount.
 
Let me know if you want me to take comparison pics.

I posted the box as i'd have assumed they came in identical boxes, but i really dont know.
 
And the fact a watch that retails between £240-£280 was over £100 off didn't set off alarm bells. Ebay or not that should make you think fake.

Fakes are getting very good now, was in Turkey last year, my wife has a genuine rolex I bought for her 30th, the fake was so good we both had great difficulty trying to spot it.
