Hi,

I'm looking to build my first gaming PC and I would appreciate some assistance picking the best components and getting the best performance for my budget.

I'll be purchasing the components February or March.

Budget: £1,070

I will require a copy of Windows.

I'm coming from a console so I would like to be able to play games at the best graphical settings possible at 1920x1080 with good frame rate. (Battlefield 4 at ultra and future games like The Division etc.)

THAT budget doesn't require a monitor, mouse or keyboard. I have a separate budget for accessories.

I'll put it here in case any one has any recommendations on them.

I have no more than £400 for the following:

*Monitor
*Mouse and Keyboard
*Speakers
*Computer Desk (Needs to fit Mouse and Keyboard side by side)

hmmm, Other people might have diff opinions, but I'd have priced:
100-150 Monitor
Mouse and keyboard 30-50 (budget)
speakers...I like headsets but have 120 quid speakers.
desk....well that's a huge range, Ikea have some decent tables, and staples.

None of this helps your PC question, I'll take a wee look and get back to you.

A 770 (or a 280X) would save a bit of money, but it would also give you less performance. No point going for one of them when a 290 will fit into the budget.

As for the 780s - performance would be similar to the 290. I'd just go for whichever happens to be on offer at the time of purchase. Right now, that's the 290. The Sapphire Tri-X for £365 is a very good deal.

Thank you for the help as far.

I would appreciate it if you could keep the actual PC components and accessories separate.

I look forward to seeing more suggestions!
