Hi,
Got an issue with my 2001 Y reg focus.

Passebger central locking doesn't work (well none of the central locking works) but how can I get the door open?
It's permanently locked.

Is there a fuse I can take out to manually open the door so the motor is disconnected?

Can you get the door card off a focus without the door open? Might even get away with taking the handle/lock off to make sure everything is still connected

Turn key in passenger door?

Maybe try resetting central locking doing the ignition thing?

Disconnect & reconnect battery?

Actually not sure if passenger door has a keyhole - I never get in that side :)

No key hole on passenger door. Will have to wait until it gets warmer and then unlocks. Then whip door card off and replace module. See if that works. Got a leak as well which is going into rear passenger footwell. Carpet doesn't feel wet and checked seal which looks ok. Can't check passenger front door which is annoying.

Then I've got a break in brake light as replaced bulb and it works intermittently so chop wires out and replace. Got to get oil & filter changed, cambelt changed (y reg on 74k miles on 1st belt as no receipts to say it's been changed). Will change spark plugs as well.

Also think I have water in petrol tank - is there anything I can put in tank to suck it up like an additive? Like Wynnes Dry Fuel. Anybody use that?

You are spending a lot of money on what is effectively a car worth £200. I would consider changing it if you are in a position to do this.

I don't think he is tbh, most of these are just niggles that you'll get with any cheap car that can be fixed for a few pounds.

The belt is a bit of a fact of life. Once its done the op can be sure its sorted. Of course he could always live dangerously, leave it and bin the car should it go but its probably worth doing unless the car will be moved on shortly

Aye, it's not worth a lot but no rust, engine has oil change every year and bar fuel tank being drilled, fuel stolen and fuel pump knackered as a result nothing has ever gone wrong. Oh and £60 for a new bearing fitted. It has never cost me bar fuel, insurance and tax.

Better the devil you know. Might do the cambelt myself as would save me £150 but tbh the garage has always been good and reliable in the 5 years I've had the car. Just hit 74k miles.

As said I'd get big bills with any car but i know this one. Oh and it's written off a 106 and all it did was bust the headlight!

The electrical & mechanical parts of the locking system should work in tandem, i.e. even if the central locking is bust the inernal handle would open the door. I would wager either the rods linking the handle to the catch have become disconnected or the actuator is seized on the passenger door. I'm pretty much certain that you have to try and remove the door card with the door shut if there is no keyhole, can't see how else you can access the mechanism :(

It's an intermittent problem as works ok in summer... Cold breeze and it stops working! Lol

Need to get module out of footwell and power the motor to unlock door so i can take door card off.

Or just replace module?

yeah, it if does intermittently work - find the 12v+ feed to the door from the module and using a jumper wire, give it 12V. that should unlock it.
You still must have some mechanical failure in the handle mechanism though
