I personally don't have anything against Microsoft or the Xbox One but it seems strange that there are so many apologists on here for what is a more expensive yet less capable console.

Where are these apologists?

PS3 owners were happy to pay more for their less capable console at launch, why does it make it strange now?

I thought the PS3 was more than capable it was just harder to program on hence a lot of multiplats were better on 360. I didn't see anything rivalling Uncharted on 360 but then I didn't own one for long enough

I suppose it's natural when you have bought and invested in one. The PS3 got hammered over and over again for years over a few lines lost in resolution or a few fps.

Now the difference is massive, even bigger than I'd imagined from the hardware specs and people are saying it doesn't matter? Even though you have to pay more for such garbage?

Better than the weird apologists of mediocrity that have popped up.

"But people won't notice the resolution has half the pixels. "

"30 fps is more consistent than 50."

"What about the gameplay?"

"Too many physics makes my screen look messy, who needs all those physics? "

And whatever other crazy excuse they can come up with.

Agreed, people had a choice and even though the difference in power was obvious before hand it appears they are in some state of deniel. You then get all of the above excuses.

Do you think people bought one thinking it was more powerful or something?

It seems like you are more worked up over it than anyone who owns a Xbox, which is rather bizarre.

The difference is huge this time round, its no longer a few lost lines of resolution or a few fps. Blu ray was arguably worth much more than waving your arms around to the tv and 80% accurate voice recognition.

We are talking half the fps or resolution and substantial details missing. It's a mess.

I see you are denying there are apologists, but trying to make out that people discussing this issue are bizarre because they don’t want a Xbox One, so why discuss it?

Lol.

He didn't say that, you have a tendency to distort his posts and don't really provide anything to counter his comments.

Can we keep the discussion about the game rather than the consoles. That discussion has been done to death already.

Are you his mum?

MS employed a smoke and mirrors campaign along with executives downright lying about their machines capabilities across numerous media outlets who are clearly in their pockets.

Albert Penello got run off from Neogaf because he posted complete lies there.

So yeah I imagine that due to their nefarious advertising that a lot of current Xbox One owners are looking at reports of the large differences and feeling the pang of buyers remorse and of being duped.

The power difference debate does lend it's self to the watch dogs 720p v 1080p debate, they go hand in hand. I'd imagine this will be a regular occurrence.
I hope not. We all know the PS4 is more powerful, and I think by now we all expect that some games will run differently on both consoles. I don't see why threads like these need to turn into a power discussion again. Just let the thread be informative, and helpful for people like me who own both consoles and this info could be useful.

Fair point, it has been done to death. I don't have high hopes for an informative thread on the pros and cons of each version.

Anyway, PS4 version every time ;)

Interesting that the engine Watch Dogs runs on isnt used for The Division (and isnt the same for AC4 neither) - Ubisoft seem to love making engines it seems?!?

Anyone know how related Anvil(Next), Disrupt and Snowdrop are? Supposedly Anvil(Next) and Disrupt arent related, but its curious that old reports stated Disrupt wouldnt suffer the same performance issues as Anvil(Next) yet here we are with this rumour - to me it suggests Anvil(Next) and Disrupt are more similar than Ubi Montreal would like us to believe - too early to comment on Snowdrop obviously...

In other news Im in love with the UbiArt Framework...

EDIT: Actually The Division isnt by Ubi Montreal so perhaps thats safe! (for now)

ps3ud0
