Meh. I don't think Watch Dogs looks that good anyway. If you have the freedom to do use any of your gadgets and do any hacking ANYWHERE AND AT ANY TIME then it'll be cool, but I suspect they'll only be certain times and places where you can do certain actions.

On crippled hardware, maybe.

The fact remains that both consoles should have been locked @ 1080p this time around and still manage a significant increase in texture quality/effects over last gen.

Are we seriously discussing an Ubisoft port? It's Ubisoft. There could be 64GB of ram and 4 titans and they would still mess up the ports one way or another.

If it is Watch Dogs, its hard to throw the lazy devs argument at them when Ubisoft delayed the game - though perhaps Im being naive there :p. Thinking about Ubisoft and PC ports makes me shudder...

Awaits arrival of Spoffle to explain what ports mean
ps3ud0 :cool:

Games are NOT ported! :mad::mad::mad:

You awful person :mad::p

I agree regarding Ubisoft.

With a bit of luck Microsoft's first party studios will be able to squeeze some decent games out at 1080p.

Shock horror. The more powerful console outputs games at a higher frames per second at a higher resolution.

The only people not expecting this must have been deluded Xbox One fans.

Neogaf bodily embarrassed themselves for all the talk from their "sources" leading up the console launches, wrong on so many things.

Semis this going to be the thing now, being surprised that the XO can't perform to the same level as the PS4, is this news, is ever multi platform going to be a passing contest each and every time? Cause I'm finding it really boring from both side to be honest.

Ah ok, was this not the case on AC IV as well with 1080p on PS4 and 720 on XB1?

ACIV is 900P (1600x900) on the Xbox one & full 1080p on the PS4 (after patch). IIRC they are both locked to 30FPS so perform similarly albeit with the annoying upscaling on the Xbox one.

I must admit that I havn't really given much though to Watch Dogs beyond the original announcement trailer. I might pick it up at a later point but I have other games to purchase / play first.

Im sure in future when they do the update to take out the gimped power of kinnect, it will be pretty even, couldnt believe that it takes up 10% whether it needs it or not.

I only got the x1 for exclusives from microsoft and remedy solely and xbox live arcade titles. my ps4 will replace my pc for certain titles maybe this one unless the pc version has better textures. For console only multiplats I'll just buy for ps4. I'll only really be buying midrange hardware for pc from now on. No more than £200 for any part so gradually ps4 would become my main platform. ps. I do love my xbox one but I would never buy a 30fps or 720p game when it is available in 1080p or 60fps on pc or ps4 and I hope terrible sales of games that run lower on x1 cause microsoft to either shorten this generation to 4 years or start pumping out amazing 1st party games.

I think the biggest issue here is the fact that there is little, to no headroom within the hardware for games to evolve graphically over the coming years.

Usually as time goes on games get a lot better looking as the devs manage to utilise the power they have and even though PC games are miles ahead graphically after the 3-5 year period, the consoles generally do very well with what they have and games tend to look a lot better than they did when the console was released.

It seems to me that this time round, devs are having to scale back on the resolution just so they keep the IQ settings and other modern techniques to keep the game looking current gen.

So in 5 years time they arent going to really look any better than they do today, unless they sacrifice resolution and the 60fps target frame rate.....its not as if X86 is something new and devs are slowly learning how to get the best out of it.
