Its down 5gb and 5 cpu cores and has a to render two screens with seamingly zero delay so i guess we can cancel that point out..

Oh it's impressive alright. I love the tiny size of it as it fits right on the edge of my desk on its side whereas god knows where the ps4s going to go with all the other console I've got. The x1 is under some wood on the desk and is almost melting the shine off the desk. Not sure I can bring myself to unplug my snes but having 10 consoles all plugged in at once is probably bit silly.

LOL really?

I'll come back to this thread in 6 months when the "Huge Gap" is reduced to some effects and a bit of framerate and then we will see how history has repeated itself again just like everyother consoel generation where a bunch of people who should no better basically say exactly the same thing as they were 5-8 years before.

In the meantime enjoy being a massive fanboy.

Literally, if something will make me give up gaming, Its other gamers.

The PS3 and XBox 360 were never this far apart.

The PS4 and Xbox one run an APU, an AMD APU, their CPU part is practically identical.

But the GPU in the PS4 has a crap ton more shaders (Of the same architecture basically), they also have a bandwidth solution that plagues the APU's.

That's as basic as I can put it. Factually, no matter what pixie dust is being thrown about, the PS4's GPU of the same architecture has a much higher raw performance output, anything they can do to optimise the Xbox one, they can do to the PS4, but then you've still got the fact, it has more raw performance, so it will always have, more performance, more to give. It really is that simple.

Problem with the PS4 is the games. The exclusives look craptastic to be honest. It's mostly indie games that don't need the power of either console to run anyway.

I had money for both consoles but the only PS4 exclusive
I wanted was Killzone and that seems to be a dissapointment gameplay wise looking at people's opinions.

So used the cash to buy a graphics card. No doubt I well pick up a PS4 at sometime, maybe if a vita bundle tickles my fancy.

And this is why I asked people to stick to game talk rather than the hardware power differences. This is now the exact same argument we were having months ago, and it's boring now. Back on topic please.

Why would other gamers opinions on their preference bother you that much that you would quit gaming? Makes you seem quite defensive, which if you dont really care then it shouldnt bother you.

Unless I'm being silly, surely this hardware part is on topic, as it's the reason for the difference, that difference being the topic?

If we can't talk about hardware differences you might as well close the thread because that's ultimately what this topic boils down to. It's like posting the speed of two cars and not being allowed to talk about chassis/engines etc. :p

The kinect doesn't really actually add £100 to the manufacturer costs of the Xbox One, not even close, it's just 2 cameras and a microphone in a shiny casing.

Yeah I know it's not exactly £100 I think the manufacturing cost is $75, but the point is that money could have been used elsewhere, unfortunatly they didn't listen to their customers until it was too late.. they were so set on making a TV box they forgot about the main function of being a games console.

Regardless, the PS4 has 50% more GPU power than the xbox one, and less software overhead. The only time that they will really be pulling similar frame rates will be when they're CPU limited, and even then the PS4 has a lot more going for it when it comes to that even if they do have the same CPUs because of the available memory bandwidth.

It doesn't make someone a fanboy just because they can acknowledge and understand this. If you're only interested in the games coming out for Xbox One, then it doesn't matter how much more powerful the PS4 is, but regardless it still is.

I am more interested in a Wii U at the moment because of the games that are available for it, I like to talk about the hardware inside the consoles but the bottom line is the games they have and the games I want to play. I am not at all interested in an Xbox simply because any xbox exclusives that I'm usually interested in come out on PC too, which is always my first choice.

The reason for the difference is Ubisoft. Wouldn't surprise me if the xb1 version days to press triangle too.

...

Still gonna get it though :p

Isnt its kinda funny how much it matters all of a sudden....

Anyone saying it was THAT important should then go buy a powerful PC with a GPU the same price as a single console if it matters that much to them, and leave it out of console gaming altogether.

Also the PS4 has 5500MHz GDDR5 RAM and the Xbox One uses 2133MHz DDR3 RAM, so this means that their is an absolutely massive bandwidth advantage in favor of the PS4, the PS4′s CPU and GPU will have 176GB/sec of bandwidth to system RAM, while the Xbox One will have just 68.3GB/sec.

Why? You can be interested in hardware and consoles at the same time. There isn't any reason to leave it out.

Yea..there is...as has been said...we know the technical abilities of both..its done..to death...its getting absurd how much we are going over the same thing.

I'm not sure what to make of this.

The PS4 is the cheaper console at 350 pound, and it has a massive potential GPU lead over the Xbox one which comes in at a higher price.

Do you not care that we've been hobbled in progression by Microsofts console?

SO you wont buy an Xbox if it comes out with some of the best exclusives just because it doesn't run them at 1080p?

Doesnt stop me owning and playing great games on a 3DS.

I'll buy the games and play them, and likely own both consoles in the end, but I don't understand or accept paying more for less.

I can only afford one next gen console. Exclusives or not, I feel as though it is very overpriced and has a silly Kinect camera which I wouldn't use.

All I ask of this gen is games with massive scope e.g no man's sky, the division, elder scrolls online, planetside 2 etc.

More sandbox type games to break away from monotonous shooters and sports games. Not everyone's cup o tea I appreciate that.

I love my ps :)

Eliot didn't... We are going over the same things because people are still refusing to accept there is anything but the smallest of differences between the PS4 and Xbox One.

Until people stop trying to claim that they are virtually identical, it'll keep happening.
