** The Official Call of Duty: Ghosts (CoD 2013) thread ***

I seem to have framerate issues on a couple of older maps too since the update....maybe I should reboot the one or something!
The new DLC I actually like, despite playing so shockingly bad for the past two days, not sure why, I do like the new maps.

I agree I've had a few frame rate issues on the original maps to. Also since the update when I start the game up it loads the single player up first, So I gotta wait until it loads then quit.

I rebooted the Xbox and its still the same.

The spawns on this game have been total garbage since the day it was released. In fact spawning has been rubbish on COD since MW3. They really need to fix it. I played MW2 the other night for a couple of hours and only had a couple of bad spawns. Whereas in this game I get bad spawn in every single game I play.

thats because MW2 had bigger maps and wasn't afraid to spawn you the other side of the map and make you walk.

COD now seem to be under the impression if people walk for more than 2 seconds without seeing action then its too far. So they make the maps smaller and then try and spawn you as close to the action as possible.

Gotta cater to the ADHD crowd that play the game.

The moment thousands of haters have waited for is finally here. Call of Duty is wobbling. Reviews of Ghosts were more wearily critical than usual, and with sales noticeably down on those of its predecessor, it seems gamers too may be growing tired of the annual "corridors and carnage" formula. It's still the top dog, but the rest of the pack is nipping a little closer at its heels.

Pretty spot on from the Eurogamer review of the new map pack

Some of the maps in this game are pretty large and I still spawn near people.
I played last night. Killed somebody and got killed by their dog, I then spawned around the corner and the dog killed me again before I'd even moved

I agree about Containment. It really is a great map.
Bay View, on the other hand, is a horrible map. I can't stand it. It doesn't matter where you are there are always about 6 different angles to be shot from. Couple that with the terrible spawn system and the map is just a nightmare to play on.

I think I'm in the minority then, I just don't like Containment I can't really put a finger on why. I'd rank the new maps in this order:

1: Fog
2: Ignition
3: Bayview
4: Containment

The stupid thing is, they can easily resolve it, but it needs a change in design vision

They could easily create a safe zone for each team, make it a building with multiple exit points onto the map, and then give it plenty of windows and vantage points which which to shoot out of to discourage people camping it.

make it out of bounds so the enemy team couldn't go in it and you've solved the problem.

To stop people having to always walk from the back of the map, give people the ability to spawn on their team mates ... or the safe zone. That way you get to choose where to spawn and can ask your buddies if its safe.

Spawn problems in COD solved. But they won't do it because that means players will either have to
A) work as a team or
B) walk from the back of the map

Both of which COD assumes their player base won't do.

Spawn problems in COD solved.

My suggestions to fix the spawns would be:
1) Get rid of all this "need to spawn close to the action" rubbish and make the priority to spawn as far away from enemy players as possible.
2) Split maps into a grid and allow players to spawn in any part of the grid. This would be more difficult in games like Domination.

You wouldn't have this problem if you die less :p

Yesterday I spawned into bullets that were already fired at a team mate before I spawned. They killed me and the team mate survived.

What can you say to that?! Pure exasperation.

Biron does appear to die a lot judging by his posts. :p

Yeah I do but I swear at least 25% of my deaths are due to terrible spawning. I've also been killed a few times by random Guard Dogs running back to their owner. If their owner is nowhere near I personally think they shouldn't attack you.

This game is weird, the trend I see is in a game one or 2 people from each team will dominate and when I see the score at the end I see that people have died so many times, I don't get it, are they all camping?

You're also either killing loads of people or can't find anyone.

I think that probably has something to do with the 'revenge' spawns. You kill someone, they respawn close by, you kill them again... Rinse and repeat. I'm still enjoying this game, already put more hours into it than BO1/MW3/BO2 combined so I've got my value for money out of it.
