****The Nintendo 3DS Thread****

Thinking of buying a 3DS in the coming days. Is it worth paying the extra for the XL? Also what games would you recommend? I'll be picking up Pokemon X or Y and probably Mario Kart.

If you have big hands the XL is far more comfortable. I also find the 2DS much more comfortable than the standard 3DS.

I couldn't give up the bigger screens of the XL though.

As for games, everyone with a 3DS needs to own:

I have both. The 3DS library is far better, in quality, diversity and number.

If you already have PS+ for the PS4 though it's definitely also worth picking up a Vita too.

To be honest, you need both as there are some absolute gems on the Vita.
 
I haven't actually got a PS4 or PS+ at the moment but I will be getting both in the near future. Maybe I should get the 3DS now and then invest in a Vita in the future once i've bought a PS4.
 
I have both and would say the Vita edges it, better screen, 2 x analogue controllers, free games on PS+, more power to deliver bigger and better looking games, Wipeout :) and can be used with PS4 which gives it another dimension.

I do agree with Kreeeee you really do need both :)
 
Thanks, I think over time i'll likely invest in both. I have noticed PS+ appears to be a worthy investment. I already pay for Xbox Live and the benefits over that are immense. Having not played any of the games for a while; are there any real differences between Pokemon X and Y?

Oh, too bad.

On another note after playing with my 3DS a little longer, the console itself and preinstalled software are fantastic. The Augmented Reality thing is great, very clever, and that flying heads game is hilarious. And the Mii Plaza thing is fun although I can't do much yet as I haven't "streetpass'd" anyone But I managed to get a Mario hat for my Mii!, using coins that I collected by walking, apparently.

Also Super Mario 3D Land is too good to be true ! So much fun.

Very happy customer here :)

Nintendo's customer service is great. Other than a mix up in receiving the postage label it got there, repaired and back in around a week and they even threw in some screen protectors (I won't use but the thought is there) and 12 months further warranty from today! That's great for me since my 12 month warranty was about to run out in a couple of weeks :).
 
Loving bravely default, anyone else playing it? Sadly all my mates are the typical COD-loving types so would be good to add some people who love a bit of JRPG instead :)
 
Contemplating selling one of my 3ds xls. What do you think it would be worth? it's the silver version with Pokemon y, Zelda albw and super Mario 3d land.
And ideas? Note to mods this isn't an attempt to sell just a question as I'm contemplating it

This annoys me so much! ive been after the original zelda series for my 3DS for ages and now they offer it exclusively to the other side of the bloody planet!

What are nintendo thinking, i'd pay actual cold hard cash for this and they dont even list it on there eshop, they just hide it away like scrooge mcduck not willling to part with too many copies of it.

just killed the adamantoise on the demo and im loving it, reminds me so much of the good old final fantasy days :)

i will be picking the full game up but im determined to get zelda albw finished first. but ive only done 2 lorule dungeons so far... not a bad thing as thats an excellent game too.

only had my 3DS XL a couple of weeks but its excellent.
