Microsoft offering 100$ off xbone when you trade in PS3....

I'm not hating on them but having to reduce your price (if the rumors are true) doesn't look great does it? What about all those who paid full release price? Some of them are going to be ****** if it's true.

If you think this is hating on MS you should have seen this forum on the last gen release and how pro MS and anti Sony it was when I was a lurker.

and all Sony will care about is the profits they are making on the twice as many they are selling if the predictions are correct.

It looks great if they could do it this quick, if its the same bundle, sell more...maybe components have dropped already?...make the same %....sell more, get more of their services into more homes, more people on Live etc...yea..terrible plan.

Don't remember much Sony hate....though do remember when they asked for £599 for the PS3.
They certainly changed their SKU in a hurry and dropped that price multiple times in rather quicken succession, that was after a late arriving console.
 
They havnt f'ed off anyone..they havnt done anything, these are nothing but baseless rumours. If it happens...fine, not that many will really care. I highly doubt any of this will happen though, not for a while.
 
MS will have to come down on price at some point, it might mean dropping Kinect from the bundle. £430 is far too expensive for the casual gamer, they will be the first to drop too because they are the most expensive. Nothing to do with desperation.

There was massive ridicule for Sony and the PS3, who remembers giant enemy crabs & Riiiidge Racer? No rumble in the controller, George Foreman Grill, higher pricepoint, hell the first mock ups of the PS3 controller were offensive enough!

Now the shoe is on the other foot and suddenly nobody can take it?

Sony got a bit too big for their boots last time around and ate humble pie, this time its Microsoft's turn.

Clearly they are lowering the price due to the competition as investors have urged them to do. In case you haven't realised, PS4 vastly outselling XB1's.
As it stands MS is having trouble selling XB1's. When they reached the 3m sales figure they had actually shipped 3.9 million units. They were unable to sell 900k over the holidays. That's allot of stock collecting dust, hence the rumoured price cut.
MS is of course used to having to do this these days, like when it wrote off a billion on surface...

Source?....or is it another 2:1 ratio guess-ti-mation, their nothing to say they are THAT fae behind.

Investors?...what investors?....if you mean shareholders they will be happy with shares sitting pretty high right now.

Where are they having trouble selling them?...they sold faster than the 360's did..where they ever in trouble?, the 3millions sale figure came before the official quarterly announcement of what MS shipped, Sony worked on a shipped forecast too ( I think, unless they predicted sales), either way the closest too shipping Sales numbers, had them not that far behind Sony.
Stock collecting dust....I don't think it would be..slowing down after initial buszz..sure.

Ms is having to do that?.....their wasn't a Write-off on the Surface RT...it was a quarterly Write-down...do you know the difference?

Another 2 months and you will have a clean quarter form the new year, though not sure if they have them in any new markets this quarter or not, if their a HUGE difference ( even wrose to what Sony and the PS3 was to 360 at the start maybe?)....then fair enough, they will look at it.

Everywhere.
Relative to Sony they are far behind in sales and demand. Sony can't keep consoles on shelves. MS can't get the consoles off shelves. When you get a glut of stock due to lack of demand you have two choices. Lower production or increase demand (lower prices). As MS will likely care a great deal about market share, they will probably choose the latter.

Anyways, theirs been no call from shareholders or anyone, not on anything worth reading I have seen ( its an easy call for those that "guess article" stuff), seeing as they don't have a source or a quote from any named people.

Ms are not going to ever ditch Xbox, or Bing, that was from a hilariously bad piece that said Elop ( when going for the possible CEO job was going to do that, in fact he never even said that).

Sales Relative to Sony?....last count...only a few hundred thousand in sales down globally, that relatively bloody as close as it gets with millions of units sold at the same time.

Like I said, a few months from now, if the numbers a WiiU kind of disastrous ( yes..it has to get that bad before desperation would set in), then they would have to get their act together.
But its too early to tell, what is it...a couple of months now?...a handful of weeks into their life, and still both Sony has lots planned and I assume MS does...how about we just let them get on with it, cause we have no clue right now how this could work out.

Source please. I'm going to be very disappointed if you quote MS's 3.9 million shipped to retail Vs Sony's 4.2 million sold at retail.

Meh you really do seem to have issues.

If MS reduce the price as Sony will do eventually with the PS4 then so be it, I fully expect the price to drop and knew this when I bought it as is the case with the majority of things I buy.
