Tomb Raider coming to Xbox one and ps4

I had a go on this on the Xbox one last night and tbh I did not notice any major frame rate issues. It was perfectly smooth for what I played.

It is a stunning looking game and a nice upgrade from the PS3/360 versions and it does look noticeably better than the PC version as well. The game world looks more alive.

Just a shame they are charging full price even for people who have previously purchased the game.
 
Toying with the idea of getting this as well. Even though I've finished it on the 360. It was prob one of my fave games of last year. My lovely PS4 I pre ordered so far in advance to get a launch one has been sat unused for over a month now. :(
 
best looking ps4 game I've seen to date, I too like the effects from the controller speaker . also voice commands actually worked for me.

open map, close map, pause, resume, stealth etc all worked. touchpad for the map etc also works really well. ps4 version is good that's for sure...

I've been playing it for the past few hours and really enjoying it again. I think it's a good example of how to utilise the controller functions nicely without forcing it into the game, swipe up/swipe down for the light etc. and yeah even voice commands worked well (I usually hate that) but using my headset I could casually say what I wanted and it worked...
 
Im very interested in getting this game, but not played a Tomb raider in years! is it more puzzle based or action based. Also nice to see how lara now looks human rather than some freaky sex doll.

Action mostly. The puzzle bits are few and far between with optional puzzle-y Tombs along the way.

Anyone with the Digipack edition are the pages in the art book stapled in ok? The pages are only stapled in on some paper and they seem to be coming away from the page (one is already free). If that's what it's like new I don't think it will last long but if there all like that probably not worth me getting an exchange.

Mine's intact but it feels very fragile tbh, I wouldn't be surprised if it falls apart with a lot of use.

edit: Also, really enjoying the game, it's a great (near)launch title imo for those like me who haven't played it yet. The 1080P graphics are lovely and stuff like the controller speak really do enhance the atmosphere, it makes me wonder why it hasn't been done sooner.

Yes when playing games I am so immersed in gameplay I don't download programs to show FR's on screen, the PS4 fanboys are obsessed with slightly higher res and higher frame rates when in real world play you hardly notice them, loving the snap integration, PS4 fanboys try and browse the internet whilst doing something else at the same time please now that is something you really notice isn't there once you've had it :)

But, but, but....Thats what a PC is for.

Sounds like this game is worth picking up, I have done the first hour if it before but never clocked it so may give it a shot.
 
Sorry, the difference for me between 780p and 1080p on my nice TV is very noticeable. Not everyone who savours 1080p is a fanboy because they prefer a better experience. That's the 'real world' for me. To be fair though my Mum can't tell the difference between ITV and ITV HD, she is nearly 60 though.

780p? :p

On a serious note I thought both version of the game were running at 1080p, just xbox capped at 30fps and ps4 capped at 60fps. I'm loving this on my xbox, really does look the part!!

Yeah it's a new res I just invented :cool:

No the MS one is 720. The FPS being noticeable is a story for another day but I'm in the don't really notice the difference camp. The resolution difference though, night and day.
 
Tomb raider is 1080p on both Xbox one and PS4. Just downloaded it for PS4 and it runs and looks identical to the Xbox one version I tried earlier... ?
 
Xbox is 30fps PS4 is 60fps. Seems a bit mountain out of a molehill to me. Just played the beginning sequence on PS4 and it seems identical.
 
Oh ok, just checked and it seems there is some 'funny business' going out and bits lacking (techy processes I don't understand) and some cutscenes go to 900p.
Of course it would be a mountain out of a molehill, it's console related ;)
