Duke Nukem coming soon?

well at least it can't be any worse than the last effort

It wasn't that bad... unless you were expecting a masterpiece after those 12 years in development.

Personally, I was expecting something similar to what was delivered. It wasn't terrible, or unplayable, and I did at least have some fun while playing it.

I liked the last one, while its correct it's was nothing like Duke 3D it still was OK.

Gearbox got the blame for the last game when it wasn't there fault. The game was 3D realms vision.
Now that's out the way they can now start there own game.
I can see it doing well.

So another fake site, like the last HL3 one? I'll believe it when it's not just a random website with a picture.

Needs to be 100% free to DNF pre-orderers like me especially with the underhand pre-order tactics of download the demo you are committed to paying for the full game

Who cares? Even the originals weren't THAT good.

If one does come out and its good? Fair enough, I think its far more likely it either won't or if it does it won't be in any way remarkable.

Duke 3D was superb.

By the days standards I suppose to some (it never blew me away but then I didn't play it on release), that doesn't mean a remake now would be worth its weight in Iceland turkey drummers.

The FPS landscape has changes, I just don't think Duke has a place in it any more, at least not it the form they tried with DN:F.

Also before someone makes a snide comment, by "FPS landscape" I do not mean CoD, I mean games like Bioshock, Metro, Borderlands etc, what people want and expect from an FPS is nothing like it was when DN was popular.

Some games do a very good Job by keeping to the roots of the FPS You have Shadow Warrior, Serious Sam, Hard Reset.

While it's true these dont sell anywhere close to what Battlefield or Call of Duty would they do stick with the old school style and do a superb job at it.

Duke sure can make a come back, just like Doom. DNF wasn't that bad what a lot people didn't like was how easy it was and it's lack of exploration.

But yet you still completed it? Why bother putting the effort into something so bad?

Maybe so he can have an opinion against those who say "How can you hate it if you haven't played it all" which is all too common with some people who believe it gets better with some games.
