My friend's Ford Focus RS was stolen from Teddington on 01/02/14 at approximately 03:00. Please keep your eyes pealed

How did they start the vehicle?

Isn't about time 'Tracker' or similar tracking device become a requirement for getting insurance for cars like this.
And the insurance firm gives you a discount for having it fitted.

Friend a few years ago had Tracker on his Merc, it was stolen & found some 7 hours later nearly 250 miles away in a storage unit along with several other stolen vehicles.

I wouldn't own any RS Ford without a tracker being fitted, they've been top pickings for thieves for decades and the new ones are no exception.

They probably had a pre-coded key or decoded on site. I would actually prefer that it's easier for them to steal vs a confrontation whilst my family are in the house.

Family members RS3 got nicked... never showed up on the Tracker. The stolen-to-order gangs know how to get round them.
