Just wondering if anyone can recommend a tablet for watching films on flights, looking for a 10" 1080p android one with battery enough for at least a couple of films.

not bothered about weight or looks as long as its up to the task and also open to second hand ones. (anyone tried the cheap Chinese ones?)

Price is the main issue, don't want to spend more than i have to either 16Gb+ or an SD card slot would also be good.

Thanks all

Does it 'have' to be android....as much as a I like android I'm not sure it's the best option for tablets now, especially when you go above 7-8 inches (I've got a nexus 7)

Personally if it's just for movies I'd be going for a new atom based windows 8 slate...even if it does mean going down to 720p. The reason being is better codec support...

If it was for an android device I'd be looking the lenovo yoga because it has a 'stand' built in :)

Make sure whatever you get supports 4gb+ files if er... the films you're watching happen to be this big. Nearly every internal partition I've seen is not exFAT but some support it on removable devices like memory cards etc... Samsungs have native exFAT iirc.

The new Nexus 7 is good. I have the older one and it's great can easily play films, good battery life and a good screen. Only problem would be the lack of MicroSD card
