Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [1st - 4th February 2014]

Will this be the game AOC actually does something useful, at all, in 90 minutes...... maybe.

I wouldn't play him in the middle against Palace, Jedinak is a damn beast. We'll see, maybe he'll step up and help control the game, he's really not moved on as an attacking player, not helped by lack of game time when he has been fit, so maybe he could excel in a different role for us.

Good enough for ya, dm?

Well he isn't doing badly ;)

Can arsenal genuinely be more ridiculous... make changes at 83mins to protect players, could have done it ages ago, don't pick the guy who is starting his first game since like August, pick others... watch the guy starting his first game pick up a injury.

Then the classic Arsenal bit, player who missed two games with broken nose uses said nose to attempt to knock out already injured player on his own team :p

Is that in reference to the game in some way, did someone get injured?

In silly action films where someone is crouched and will stand/jump upwards and use their head to smash into the other guys face... that is what Rosicky did to Chamberlain... I did think he might be completely out at first. He fell backwards to the ground as if he wasn't all there but wasn't down for long.

Oh well, three pts on the board. Worth a headache for lol

He also pulled up, about 30 seconds after we made the final two subs, stretching both legs out, was very static after that, basically stood around in midfield apart from being headbutted by Rosicky.....

We'll see if that turns into anything, very silly to play him for the full game though, 2 goals, game over, take him off. Would have liked to see a couple more first teamers rested for the game, Giroud at the least wouldn't have been a problem, could possibly have given Jenks a run out and rested Sagna.

To be fair no one can predict an injury. If he got taken off people would have said why is he being taken off as he needs 90 minutes of football.

Good couple of goals from the OX today. Making quite a comeback from his injury. Good stuff altho I'm hoping his injury isn't too bad. Haven't managed to watch the game but will catch the highlights at some point.

Now the real test begins with Liverpool twice then utd and then the icing in the cake...Bayern lol. Hopefully get some points against Liverpool and utd, and get past Liverpool in the 5th round of the FA cup. Well fingers crossed

You're right in the mix to win something for the 1st time in 100's of years, how can you not manage to watch these games?

Someone needs to make an animated gif of Toure's expression after that WBA goal, you know, one that goes on for like 20 seconds with random stuff going on around him like the Arsenal ones from a few years back with Wenger and Fabregas etc :)

Win, lose or draw this has been a really poor tactical display from Rodgers today. Played exactly the same way as we did against Everton despite the fact WB have sat far deeper. We've not been able to support the front players because the gap between them and midfield has been too big and we should've adapted our game to overcome that.

Missed this earlier. Couldn't agree more and it's not the first time Rodgers has made the same mistake.

Nobody really knows what to expect from WBA under their new manager so maybe you could forgive him for setting up to play on the break but Rodgers again failed to spot a problem early enough and make a change. We never got going all game; we were playing to hit them on the break but didn't get the opportunities to do so and by only playing one up top, WBA were able to take time out of the game knocking the ball around the back.

The game was crying out for Allen to come on much earlier than he did and when he did, we should have moved into more of a 4-4-2 and looked to play the game in their half more than we did.

Personally I was working, but he could have family commitments, not have sky, etc

That's what's great about highlights. I'm sure most of us would love to see all the games live but just because you don't have the opportunity doesn't make him any less interested.

I'll be watching it on motd tonight. 100's of years? Be serious it's not even ten yet...yet...;)

Fa cup is the best opportunity. League is an outside bet, CL is a dream lol
